Car acts like is running outta gas but its not. it starts off fine and then it starts slowing down

Dose it do it all the time or only after you have filled up ,,if so check the bleeder air hose on top of the tank,,, Fuel filter might need changing ,,,Air filter needs either cleaning with air or replacing

check all these and let me know how you get on

well if it only ran out of gas, and did not stop for some other reason, then just filling with gas and normal starting should work just fine. sometimes it does take a bit of cranking to get fuel running again.

It could be vapor locking if you drive for a while then it acts like it is running out of gas. this is caused by the fuel vaporizing before it gets to te carburator. Check the fuel lines for placement close to a heat source like the exaust, Also, the problem could be the fuel pump, you can have a pressure check done to see if the pressure is up to specks.

Year make and model ? You may have cooked the pump or picked up some junk from the bottom of the tank, if the fuel pump is in the tank.
Running on less than 1/4 tank is tough on an in-tank pump.

Engine loses power while driving. It acts like its outta gas but it dont die, if I slow down or stop it works fine again. I put 2 used fuel pumps in it then I put a new fuel pump in it. All 3 pumps read 35...

Fuel pressure regulator maybe . Do you know where it is on the fuel injector rail . With the vehicle running pull the vac, hose off . Does the rpm go higher ? Is there fuel leaking out the end of the regulator ?

I have a 98 mercedes c230 it sometimes surges at idle if you hit the gas it clears up and loss of power i have replaced both oxygen senors,replaced the fuel pressure regulator and the manifold becaused it...

It's like faulty air flow meter, first start engine is the engine running rough disconnect electric socket from air flow meter is the engine running better than before replace air flow meter. if not need to be diagnose to find the fault code is this information helped you?

Initially starts fine, runs fine, then stalls at the first stop.

This is a fuel pump issue. i would replace it and the lines as well.also, a minor tune up wouldn't hurt as well. wires plugs distributor cap points etc...

Ca ran outta gas, sat 2 days, start then died.

you have to allow time for the fuel to get back into the have air in the lines from running it out of gas

i think your exhaust might have a leak which is heating up your oil when this happens the engine suffocates and wants to die.
