Question about 1990 Buick LeSabre

1 Answer

My 1990 buick lesabre also has a heater blower problem and I have made it work in the past by pulling apart the connector near the blower under the hood and cleaning the connector. This time I can not open the hood because the hood release cable seems to be broken. Does anyone know how to open the hood to replace the cable?

Try reaching the hood latch mechanism thru the grille, or from under the car behind the front bumper with a long screwdriver or long pliers, or a piece of coat hanger or whatever.

1997 buick lesabre limited, blower motor works sometimes.

More than likely a bad speed control. These are usually mounted inside the car near the bottom of the AC box. Another possibility is a bad connector under the hood. The offending connector is usually located on the right side of the car near the blower motor area. Look for a connector that has one large red or orange wire and two smaller wires. I have found these connectors burnt up on many occassions.

1990 Buick LeSabre cooling fan sensor

It is located at the cover that the upper radiator hose connects to or near it in the manifold. See picture below of sensor.
The picture below is of the new style sensor, you must replace the connector, yours is the old discontinued style and will be round and you squeeze the connector it to release it. You will need a wiring connector upgrade as well to use the improved switch below..

My 1998 buick lasabre has no air coming out any of the vents. could it be a blower motor or fuse and where are they located dont have owners manual

the blower motor is under the passenger side of the dash. Once you locate it (you will need to remove the trim pannel under the dash) turn on the heater and turn the blower to high speed, then wack the bottom of the blower motor with a screwdriver handle or tap with a hammer. If it starts to work replace it.

You can also grab the connector and twist/pull. If the blower starts to work but you can hear is slow or stop by twisting/pulling the connector than replace the blower motor.

Here's some more info for you

It has a module,or a relay,I think it has a relay, near the blower motor,or under the cover along the fire wall under the hood.

I need to know where to hook up the vacuum lines under the dash of my 1990 buick lesabre.there are three hoses hanging down under the dash, three different colors. and my heater control doesn't change the...

Snap bezel around heater controls off. Small black rectangle. Remove screws underneath. Remove trim that goes over to radio. Now remove the screws to the ac controls and pull it out to reconnect hoses.
