That's because it is!
Once you have the heater box assembly out of the vehicle, you will be able to split the two halves apart by removing the screws, to gain access to where the heater core is located. If you have A/C, it will be a major PITA. Good Luck!

Where is the heater core located at on the 93 caprice ,is it behind the glove box ,or do I have to remove the whole dash

WOW, sorry it has taken so long for someone to see and respond to your question. You've probably figured it out on your own by now, but if not, here is your answer. The heater core in your Caprice is located behind the glove box. To gain access, you have to remove the lower right dash insulator panel (below the glove box) and than the glove box. Remove any vaccuum lines ( mark their locations.) Then remove the lower instrument panel brace and then the heater core cover. Remove the heater core clamp bolt and clamp. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core on the left hand side of the engine compartment( looking at the engine from the front of the car.) Then remove the heater core.

Have no heat put new therostat i and still cold what core do i have to change

Open the front passenger door, bend down and look up under the dash, behind and maybe above the glove box. You will see a large black plastic box, that is the heater box and the heater core is inside it. Before you start taking things apart, you may want to do a search on youtube.com for a video of someone doing it. Most likely the entire dash, or a part of it will have to come out to replace the core.

How do you remove the heater core for a 2002 Mitsubishi Diamante?

the dealer quote is over a grand, but from my understanding you can remove the glove box compartment and not have to go through the whole dash being taken apart.. not an hours job by any means but supposebly doable..

you should be able to go under the dash on the passengers side to get to it. if you look where the heater hoses go in the engine compartment it will tell you how far up you have to go inside.
