How much does it cost to replace all shocks and struts?

This can vary in price, depending on brand of suspension, stock ride height and dampening, etc.

You're best bet is to browse some online sites (autopartsway, JCwhitney, etc) and price out oem setups first, based on your vehicles year, make and model.

Expect a typical shop to charge 2-4 hours to replace, or save yourself some money, buy a bentley manual, and do it yourself.

Having replaced many complete suspensions myself, I normally pay about $500 to $700 in parts.

The shocks and struts should be replaced every 80,000 miles unless there are sign's of fluid leaks. Monroe shocks and struts are one of the more popular Brand names out there. Good luck and shop around and remember, you get what you pay for so spending a few more dollars is worth 80,000 miles of use.

Need to relace front struts on Mercedes E320 yr 1999. Do I need to pull the engine to replace?

No you do not need to remove the engine for a job like this.

This model of car does not have a conventional macpherson strut shock and spring assy.

The spring and shock are separate items. you will need to clarify what your actual problem is so i can help you further. thanks

Replace boots

The boots will keep the water, mud, sand, snow, dirt etc away from the struct/shock piston rods. They will last longer. Make sure the boots are secured at both ends. They are simple to install so it should be done.

Front shocks

hyd. struts. Each side will have to be removed individually, the large coil spring is removed, then an insert is installed. After both sides are done, the front end will have to be re-aligned. Over all, not cheap. So you want to be sure you need new struts. There are not shocks, but struts.
