Not hard if you can ever get to them. Pay someone, it's worth it.

Oil leaking from rear valve cover gasket & getting burnt oil smell thru air vents inside vehicle

Thi depends on whether you want to do it yourself or not. It's an easy fix, just get the gasket and remove the valve cover. It's tidious but doable. Otherwise, get ready to spend $150-200 for a shop.

Can i change rocket cover gaskets without pulln my engine out

Yes most definatly. Here are the steps, and if you find this info helpful, a vote with the thumbs up would be greatly appreciated for the free advice. These are also known as valve covers.
  • Disconnect the breather hose, which, depending on the engine in your vehicle, may be attached to the valve cover. Remove the retainer bolts for the valve covers. Depending on which engine you have, you might have as few as two bolts or as many as eight.

  • 2

Lift the valve cover off the engine. If it does not want to come off easily, gently tap it with the rubber hammer. Clean the gasket-mating surfaces using the scraper and a shop rag.

  • 3

Coat the gasket-mating surface of the valve cover with a thin layer of RTV silicone. Install the gasket onto the cover, then press it into the silicone. Install the valve cover.

  • 4

Tighten the bolts to 5 foot-lbs. of torque for the 1.2-liter engine, and 4 foot-lbs. of torque for the 1.6-, 1.8-, .22-, 2.5-, 2.7- and 3.3-liter engines. Reattach the breather hose.

How do i get the back 3 spark plugs out of the firewall side of the motor?

You have to remove the intake plenum, the plugs are under it...Just take you time and watch what you are doing.. If needed, go to library and look in a repair manual for the vehicle as to how to R&R intake plenum.. Is this a 2.5 liter or 2.7 liter?

The 2.5 liter is the one with the plenum removal necessary...2.7 liter just has the plugs in the rear head but up under the windshield cowl.

2.5 liter, Remove the air plenum on that one to get to the back plugs, and when you do you,ll need to replace the gasket for it,those are hard to get to,use a really good socket because those are close and if the socket slips there's plenty of things to bust a knuckle on ,it takes a while to do those ,but be sure and don't hit the plug on anything when your installing it,that will throw the gap off and it wont run right, take your time with it,good luck.

2.7 liter, you do not have to remove the plenum. If you look under the wiper cowl area on the back head you will see the 3 coils just like on the Front bank. Remove the coils and the plugs are underneath. you will need a spark plug socket, 3 in extension, and a 1 in extension to get these out because of the clearance. Your car is the same as any 2.7 from 2001 until 2006.

    Good luck

1998 catera 3.0 #1 spark plug well fills with engine oil causing the plug to miss fire check engine light goes on after shuting engine off for 1-2 hours the problem goes away only to return after driving...

You will have to remove the valve cover and replace the gasket and seals on the cover and the spark plug tubes. It is not to bad unless it is the rear cover which can be some work.

How to replace valve cover gasket on a 2002 stratus 3.0 liter engine

i don't know that vehicle very well... but there are usually bolts/screws that hold them in place. 4 to 6 of them per cover. sometimes the spark plug holes have giant nuts that hold the cover in place.
