No spark, but also no sound of fuel pump priming. Replaced coil and ignition module after truck just died while driving. If fuel pump is not getting power, can that result in no spark?

Check the modules usually located on the drivers side inner fender in a black plastic box. Mine had a $30.00 relay that quit working. Pull it out and plug in a new one!!!!!!!!

2001 saturn dies after it starts.restart it and dies ,

A car that starts over but doesn't start and dies , in many cases this problem will be due to a bad fuel pump, a broken timing belt, an inoperative cam sensor or crank sensor. Also this problems are related to faulty spark plug. Check the spark at spark plugs when you start the car. Do you notice any spark. Actually you should see. If in case there is no spark then it's a spark plug problem. Also the coil pack gives power to spark plug. So check the voltage at coil pack. It will show 12 volt.If there is no voltage noticed at coil pack then its faulty coil pack that has to be replaced. If all the possible options checked out ok then check the car starter. The starter gets power from battery to start the care. If the starter is faulty then it will not let the car to start. Also check and confirm that there is fuel in the car. If it very low fuel then in some cases this causes the problem. Also check and confirm that fuel pump is functioning properly and the fuel filter is not clogged. One of the easiest ways to check for a fuel pump related problem is to spray a little starting fluid into the air intake while trying to start the car. If the car starts momentarily, then there's a good chance the fuel pump is not working or the car is out of gas. You can also listen for the fuel pump's humming sound when the key is first turned on. Also if a inoperative fuel pump is suspected, a good technician will always check to verify there is power and ground being supplied to the pump, to eliminate the possibility of a bad relay or electrical issue. Fuel pressure can be checked with a pressure gage and if there is pressure, pulse can be checked at the fuel injectors in several ways including the most common, with the use of noid lights. If the injectors don't have pulse the engine won't start. ---------- This troubleshooting tips will help you to solve the problem.Thanks.Helpmech.

2001 kia sportage just died on hiway, any suggestions on what might be wrong?

3 THINGS WILL CAUSE CAR TO SHUT OFF ON HIGH WAY.LIKE ALTERNATOR - FUEL PUMP - SPARK IGNITION COIL OR MODULE.FIRST OF ALL IF YOU HAVE DASH LIGHTS AND HEAD LIGHTS.ALTERNATOR OKAY YOU GETTING POWER.LISTEN FOR FUEL PUMP TURN ON IGNITION SWITCH ENGINE OFF LISTEN TO HEAR FUEL PUMP RUNNING IN GAS TANK.IF YOU HEAR NO PUMP RUNNING IN GAS TANK.CHECK FUEL PUMP FUSE AND RELAY.BOTH CHECKED OUT GOOD MORE LIKELY FUEL PUMP AT FAULT.IF FUEL PUMP RUNNING CHECK FOR SPARK AT PLUGS.IF NO SPARK.CHECK IGNITION FUSE.IF FUSE GOOD YOU COULD HAVE PROBLEMS IN THE PCM SINCE IT CONTROLS SPARK IGNITION SYSTEM.

if you replace module and still had no spark. then it was not the module it could be the ignition coil. you need spark no spark no run...check power to the distrbutor. check that the distrbutor is turning.

When i step on the accelerator hard the engine almost dying

This can be a number of things, so I'll give you a check list:

Check spark plugs, wires. coil, cap, and rotor. if they arent giving enough spark when you accelerate the car will want to die cause your flooding it out .

Check your fuel filter, if the engine cant get enough gas to support accelleration it will want to die

check your exhaust. If you converter or other exhaust component is getting clogged the engine wil have to much back pressure and dog under acceleration.

Check your air filter, if it is dirty it can starve the engine for air and your car will want to die,

and finally (hopefully not your problem) you could have a faulty fuel pump. If your fuel pump goes bad your system wont have enough pressure in the gas lines to your fuel regulator and cause the same problem.

Rule out the other stuff first, cause a new fuel pump gets pricy. If you purchase everything elts I mentioned before buying a new fuel pump you would still be under 25% of the cost for a new pump

Engine dies instantly on freeway

There are many things that will cause a vehicle to quit. Lack of fuel and lack of spark are the 2 most common problems. A few possible issues here. Fuel pump, fuel filter, open wire circuit to the fuel pump, bad ignition module, ignition coil, distributor pickup coil, open wire circuits in ignition, relays. Need to eliminate either no fuel or no spark first then go from there.

1994 Dodge Intrepid ES - Suddenly died on road

A Car need 3 things to run, Air , Fuel and Spark. Start troubleshooting by checking for spark, if no spark prob the coil packs or ICM. Iff you have spark then move to the fuel, remove the cap from the tank and have somebody listen where you fill it up for the buzz of the pumps initial prime. you can also break one of the fuel lines loose and check for fuel volume and to ensure it is pumping. if it is not pumping check all relays and fuses and check to ensure you are getting power to the pump before you replace it.

Vihicle died won't start

My 92 Subaru would not start. New rotor, cap, replaced fuel filter. No gas getting to filter. When gas trickled in carb, runs like a top. I think the fuel pump out.
