How do I replace the headlight bulb on a 2002 jetta?

On the back of the headlight assembly, you will see a cover that is held down by two clamps. Flip the clamps to the side and remove the cover. Then you can disconnect the wiring from the bulb and then twist the retaining rain counter clockwise to remove the bulb

Pop the hood and look behind the headlight assembly where the wires come out the back of the headlight and you'll see the socket, simply grab the socket and turn it counter clockwise and then remove the bulb and insert the new one and put the socket back in and turn it clockwise and you're done. When you buy the new bulb at the parts place just tell them the year model and make of the car and they should be able to get you the right bulb.

If you pop the hood, there should be a blub door right behind the headlight. Open the door, turn the bulb and it should pop out, ready for the new bulb.

VW headlight replacement instructions


open hood look down at the back of you headlight assembly you will have one or two metal clasps that hold the cover on pry those to the side pull the connectors off then remove the metal clasp that holds the bulb in place. remove be sure not to touch the new bulbs glass and put back together. you will have to unscrew two covers that are on the side with the battery tight fit for more then slender hands

No low beams on my 2002 jetta but daytime running lights work


first check the wire make sure low beam power is there if there is power check your low beam fuse if fuse is good check the rely and if that good check head light module make its putting out power and if all that is goo then change you bulb it may be a double filament buld and the low beam side is blown

2002 Volkswagen Cabrio- No low beam headlights


you prob haven't used your lights all summer, I have seen this on more than one occassion, you are correct in your assumption, both you dim bulbs have blown. Both head and dim lights are in the same bulb, but head is working and dim is gone. If you take out one of the bubs you should be able to check it

there is a socket on the back side and a retainer clip.do not touch the bulb,just the base plastic.the oil from your skin will heat up eventually and shatter the glass.
