Emissions reset not it doesn't register for inspection

My emissions light wouldn't go off so a mechanic reset it and it doesn't stay on any longer. BUT not I can't get an inspection sticker because it doesn't register all the emissions tests. I have driven about 800 miles since it was reset.

All of the tests have not run yet.. the mechanic that cleared the codes did not do you any favors. you must repair the problem causing the light to come on. you may need to keep driving it until a light comes on, and then a QUALIFIED mechanic can fix the cause of the light.

I just took my Hyundai 2002 Accent to get inspected. The emissions test light would not come on. Mechanic said it would have to go to the dealer to get the computer reset. Does this cost a lot?

There not exist any computer reset that correct a emission out of range. If the car is running without the check engine light comes lit ( it means if you drive the car more than 40 miles and the check engine light remains off) and the emissions are out of the range, is necessary check if the engine is operating in normal coolant temperature ( half way to the top), check if the air filter is free, check for the spark plugs are working properly, and check if the catalytic converter is at least in 13% of CO2. Also check with a scanner tool if have any engine code stored in the memory.

Need to reset the computer codes to the emission sensors on a 2008 Hyundai Sonata

What mechanic?

Inspection Stations have no mechanics

A state licenced repair shop wouldn't have an problem
with that.

They would make the repair & move on to pass the vehicle

No one understands, there is no resetting codes, as a fix
for anything. If that was the case, the mechanic would have done so

You can clear them & then they come back, or you
have no data to diagnose the reason they came on

A car is in no way related to window 7 or any computer
technolgy. The car has a processor called an ECM or PCM

Check Engine Light came on.....code was O2 sensors.....replaced myself..... mechanic cleared codes.....Said I had to drive at least 100 miles for reset to register inspection with DMV......Drove nearly 550...

were this oem sensor (original) or after market? some times the after mark are not as good. the miles you did are this stop and go (city) or higwh ,there a certain procedure to reset this computers some cars take longer than othersget your mechanic to do it him self with the scanner or just keep driving it until it resets itself or gives a code.

I have been losing coolant but its not on the ground. I had an emissions test and my evap, catalyst, my 02 sensor, and 02 all shows not ready. I had my check engine light reset and it hasn't come back on...

Your coolant may be going somewhere else.
You may have a head gasket issue...
Pull the oil dipstick to see if its milky...
If so take it to a reputable mechanic and see what they find..

My check engine light has came on and I went and had it checked at auto zone and they said it was a code 128 I added coolant but the light remained on after driving for over 30 minutes. what else could it...

drive more like 100 miles or so you have to reset the drive cycle to clear the code. if the light stays on take it to a mechanic. autozone messes peoples stuff up, i work for emission inspections in nevada.

I have engine light on and code 1457 on 1999 Odyssey. Please help!!!!!!!!!

That code is "evaporative emission control system leakage. (evap. canister system)"

this code takes at least two drive cycles to set. You can try to reset the engine light and emission computer and clear the code and see if the code resets. If it stays clear, it was probably a spurious code. To reset the engine light and emission computer, pull the No. 13 "clock/backup" (7.5A) fuse in the front passenger's kick panel fuse box. Wait at least 10 seconds. Put the fuse back in. This should put the check engine light out. If the light comes back on after two drive cycles (that is; start, run for a while, turn off X 2) have it checked out by a mechanic.
