Along with the jack and the tire iron, there should be another metal rod that will have sort of a square, hex, or star shape on one end (this may also be part of the tire iron). with the trunk open, look along the top edge of the bumper and you should see a hole that you insert the rod into and then crank it to lower the tire out from under the car

You should be able to order one from the dealer.
If you are talking about a key for the lug nuts, it will depend on if the wheels are from Ford.

Where is the spare tire located on a 1995 ford aerostar?

Section 00-02: Lifting, Jacking and Spare Tire Stowage 1995 Aerostar, Ranger, Explorer Workshop Manual
TIRE STOWAGE Tire, Spare, Removal, Aerostar If the Aerostar is a standard length vehicle the spare tire is mounted inside to a carrier at the left rear quarter panel. To remove the spare tire, remove the wing nut and plate. A flat tire can be temporarily stowed in the same location.

If the Aerostar is the bus with a standard length body or extended length (all models), the temporary spare tire is stowed at the rear of the vehicle under the body. The Aerostar standard length E-4WD bus spare tire is mounted on the floor.
  1. Insert lug nut wrench into the actuator hole and turn counterclockwise until the cable extends to allow the spare tire to be pulled rearward from under the vehicle.
  1. Slide spare tire to the rear and remove the retainer from the wheel.
  1. To stow cable/retainer with spare tire removed, insert cable fitting into carrier rear wall slot, place wheel retainer against the carrier, and turn lug nut wrench clockwise until slack is removed.
please rate, thanks

Flat tire

Ford's spares are held in place with a cable that's loosened by inserting the jack handle into the cable crank. it's located below the door sill of the rear door. Look for a hole that the jack handle can be inserted and turn counterclockwise. The tire should lower down for you.

Trying to get the spare tire off of my pick up truck

Hello, when you go to let it down can you turn the rod that you are useing to let the tire down? If not then the cable or gear box is rusted solid. That is what usually happens because of the location and lack of use. If it doesn't turn you will have to cut the cable or cradle that holds the tire up. If the rod does turn your spare tire carrier might have a safety catch. The catch can usually be released by putting a jack under the spare tire rim and raising it up. While your doing that turn the rod to crank up the tire. That should release the saftey catch and allow the tire to be lowered down.

1).First you will need a jack, and a socket wrench.

2).Look under the trunk section at the bottom to first find the tire.

3).lift up the truck with the jack then get the spare tire underneath.

4).Use the socket wrench to unscrew the bolt's (turn left to loosen turn right to tighten).

5).Take out the bad tire and replace it with the spare.

6).Place the bolts back in place.

7).Lower the car back down .

Ford F250 Spare Tire Removal

Hi there!

The only trick I know is to coat the bolts with coppergrease - and check yearly.

They get the worst of the road spray, then sieze.

Sometimes bolt croppers are the only way - then replace the mountings.

Try penetrating oil for several days ( I presume you're home now), and apply a self-grip wrench while using a good socket set on the other. If it snaps - job done, get a replacement.

Bad design.

Paint your spare steel rim with a rustproofing sealant - or it will soon rust around the tyre - causing a flat as well.

I hope this solves your problems - now and in the future. If it does, Please rate as Fixya, Thank you.
