The horn input to ground is located in the cruise control module. if they both don't work then your cruise control module or the clockspring coil for the steering wheel needs to be replaced. If airbag lights is on as well then I would change the clockspring coil first.

Sounds like a bad clockspring. located in steering column under steering wheel, operates airbag, horn cruise etc, it make wire connection possible so the wheel can spin, its a roll of flat wires, that unroll and roll up as steering wheel is truned from left to right, wires break after a while.

My horn isn't working on a Chevy equinox but it's a new horn. What could be wrong with it..and my cruise control don't qork. Is it my steering wheel?

Was Cruise Control working before the New Horn was installed? The power supply to the Horn, (input to ground wire) is connected to the Cruise Control Module (CCM). This CCM is wired to the Relay Switch Box located in the Engine Bay. The Relay Box cover will have a Chart indicating what function each Relay coresponds to. Your local autoparts store (AutoZone) can test the Relay Switch, and you'll know (if any Relay) need to be replaced.

The CCM is also wired to the Steering Wheel, but first passes through the Clock Spring Coil, located just behind the Steering Wheel. The Clock Spring allowes for the Function Buttons on the Steering Wheel to have power while Steering Wheel spins.

The Clock Spring can malfunction or break, its rare, but this will cut power to the Function Buttons on Steering Wheel. If ALL the buttons on Steering Wheel dont work, then the Clock Spring is the Culprit. The Coil may need to be replaced.

The Cruise Control Module itself may have failed and also would cause a few or all Steering Wheel Functions to quit working.

But first check the Relay Switch Box and examine the Harness Cables connecting (Steering Wheel--to--CCM--to--Relay Switch Box--to--Battery Supply).

Also if Cruise Control was working before the new Horn was installed and now not working, then most likely the Problem is a bad wire connection somewhere and/or is a faulty Relay.

How to fix horn and cruise control on steering wheel. checked fuses and fusible links, all good.. may have no voltage to them? 94 ford areostar steering wheel

This is most likely caused by a bad wire loom in the steering column called a clock spring. They are a pain to replace without special tools.

2006 ford fusion, steering wheel has horn, cruse control that doesn't work, is their a fuse

I would think the clock spring is bad ,the clock spring is ribbon wire wound in side a plastic body inside top of steering column. The steering wheel has to be removed to get at it. It is used so you can turn the steering with out losing power for the horn and cruise control. How cars clock spring works

On the steer wheel, the cruise and horn does not work. fuse, or wiring issue?

When I owned my 1999 Grand Caravan the "clock spring" went out and I lost my cruise control ( don't remember if the horn quit too). There was a recall on it and the dealer changed if for free and it cleared up the problem. The clock sping is in the steering coulmn under the steering wheel and it's what keeps connections for steering wheel controls.

The horn on my 1993 ford 250 econoline does not work. I checked the fuses and relay. All are good. the cruise works what is wrong what did I miss?

OK, take the steering wheel cover off for the button and verify that the switch or button there is grounding out.

Use a test light (non-powered) to connect the circuit together to see if this sounds the horn.

Horns are always powered with positive power and are grounded out by the horn switch in the steering wheel.

Hope this helps.

Purchased 1996 Ford Crown Victoria. On driving it home the cruise control went out. Tried to reset and won't work, as well as the horn. What is the problem?

The horn relay is located toward the front of the engine. It is located just behind the radiator overflow reservoir and attached to the inner fender next to two other relays. It is the only one without a plastic cover over the top of it. FYI, our Crown Vic horn didn't blow, and the cruise didn't work. I changed the relay and still no horn. I decided to check the horns themselves. Found wires disconnected from terminals. Touched wire to horn terminal and horn blew incessantly. (previous owner had disconnected horn rather than diagnose why) Pulled the horn "button" from steering wheel and disconnected the wire leads and horn quit. Disassembled the "button" assembly. Foam had degraded over time between the contacts. (Ford has discontinued this part). Cleaned and replaced foam with Scotch foam mounting squares with holes punched out over contacts (2 layers thick). Re-assembled and viola! Horn and cruise control both work! Relay was bad as was horn button.

Horn and cruise control dont work, what to do?

It is wires wound around in a circle within a plastic housing called a clockspring. The clockspring lives behind the steering wheel and connects your horn, cruise and most importantly the airbag. Usually it is the airbag that is first to quit with a light on the dash coming on.

Fix this please

If your horn doesnt work either you have to remove the steering wheel and there is the connector for the horn/cruise control. If nothing broken there, check the clock spring too!

My horn doesn't work, neither does my cruise control help anyone i need to get my car inspected ASAP

For inspection you shouldn't need the cruise to work but for the horn have you checked the fuse? or relay? Another thing to look for is are the wires both connected to the horn? if all that checks out check and see if power is getting to the horn and also check in the steering wheel to make sure nothing happened there.
