You might have to check the ignition on your truck the cylinder may not be going to on to keep it running .. so you can try to first turn the key and listen for the warnig bell or buzzer and if you don't hear it then you can toggle with the ignition until you hear it then try starting the truck it should work . it may not be a perminant solution i would say to either replace or get the ignition fixed.....

You may have a bad iac motor, which raises idle until a little warm, sounds like its not working.

My 02 sentra will not go into drive

Hello 02 Sentra....Have you checked the transmission fluid level?

Is your dash board displaying any SES (Service Engine Soon) indicators?

Your vehicles on board systems can be accessed by a
OBD II reader...I do believe AutoZone performs this as a free customer service.

PS: MAP - Manifold Absolute Pressure - The MAP sensor converts engine vacuum/manifold pressure to an electrical signal so the computer knows how much load the engine is under. This data is the basis for fuel delivery and timing control. The MAP sensor is typically located in the air cleaner, fender wall, firewall, intake manifold or under the dash.

What are the symptoms of a faulty map sensor?
Vehicles with a bad manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor typically run rough while accelerating, decelerating or idling. Other common symptoms include increased fuel consumption and sudden jerks or hesitation while accelerating. Drivers may detect a strong smell of gas after the engine has warmed up.

Car starts great, warms up then misfires and stalls out. Installed new water pump, timing. This question has been answered but the detail below still pertains to this same issue.

Hi, if you have been talking to somebody, if you reply on the comment link, they will know your asking another question. As far as firing order, whatever cylinder would have to be on compression stroke.
I don't know year--make--model?

Sat. 01 sl wait 1/2 hour to start when warm. stalls when ideling 1/2 hr restart

You have a bad air intake manifold gasket. If it runs idling high, take a can of brake cleaner and spray it on the air intake manifold by the firewall. Spray it right where the air intake bolts on. There are 8 10mm bolts or nuts there. When you spray it while idling, the revs will come down. This makes sure that is the problem before you go any farther. My 02 did the same thing. If you need to know how to change it, let me know, I can walk you through it. It's a one to two hour job, b ut easy

Resetting computer on volvo s60 2002 after battery replacement

I had this problem on my 02 s60 after messing with the battery. The problem is that the computer is stupid and "forgets" how to manage the car if it completely loses power.

To retrain it you basically just drive the car. I've seen several sets of instructions but here's what works for me:

1. Start the car and let it idle until warmed up.
2. Using moderate throttle (don't floor it) get the car up to highway speeds.
3. Slow down to a complete stop.
4. Repeat 2-3 a few times if you're so inclined.
5. Done!

Skipping the highway part will work too, however, I've heard it can take much longer to retrain the computer (weeks to months depending on driving habits.)

94 jeep grand cherokee. starts, idle. throw warmup. as soon as I touch the excellerator let up the rpm drop & engine stalls.

Most low idle speed problems on these engines are due to a faulty idle air control valve but since you state the idle will go up and return to idle then i would say it is working properly i think you have a throttle body coking problem ( dirt and grit accumulates around the butterfly valve in the throttlebody ) to fix this simply remove the fresh air hose from the throttlebody and open the throttle all the way up use a clen rag and wipe clean you may use a solvent such as B12 on the rag but dont use too much 1_4_2013_4_54_06_am.jpg

I had the same problem with my Passport and it was the fuel pump going bad. The pump was not producing enough pressure to get the fuel into the fuel system. A local shop discovered the problem when they did a pressure test on my fuel system.

95 dakota dies when warmed up

yes it can but you may have a coolant temp sensor acting up which causes the computer to open the injectors to much which can also cause this 02 sensor code. when it stalls do u have spark and fuel pressure.

02 honda crv after warming up it shuts down at a stop

Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls and low idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve, they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.
