Open the trunk and you will see two screws securing the tail light housing. Remove the screws and pull the assembly out. Then you will see the socket going into the back of the housing. Twist the socket counter clockwise to pull it out along with the bulb. Then pull the bulb straight out of the socket

Andrae, If it is just the right rear signal not working, re check the bulb and wires to the socket, signal bulb should have 2 filaments. When you put emergency flasher on do both tail lights flash, .

Rear lights, brake lights and turn signals do not

I would check if they also run off of a relay, You could have a wire that is either broke or it is grounding out somewhere.

ALL BREAK LIGHTS NOT WORKING

Have you checked your brake light fuse? If it is good do your rear turn signals work? If you have turn signal and no brake lights it is probably the turn signal switch these are a common problem and your power for your brake lights goes through your turn signal switch. Sometimes it is actually the hazard switch that melts but this can not be serviced alone. If you have no rear turn signals and no break lights it could still be the turn signal switch but is more likely to be a wiring problem in the rear usually trailer wiring T connections. Chiltons has wiring diagrams in there manuals but they are not always accurate. Let me know if I can help you further and please rate.

Brake lights/rear turn signals

I had the same problem with my 1999 Yukon. The electric board needed to be replaced. Rust starts to build up and shorts out or blows the bulb. The dealership charged $73.60 for the part and I installed it myself (Saved $30).

Brake Lights Not Working ...

Hello all; I figured out this one; it is indeed the turn signal switch. There are plastic tabs that hold the whole assembly together under constant friction when you use the turn signal. They eventually wear out. I was able to fix mine on my own. I had to take the air bag out and everything! The easy way to figure this out is to take out one of the brake lights from it's mount, lay it in the trunk connected and fold the seat down, so you can look back and see it go on as you pull the turn signal lever slightly towards so and step on the brake. That's how you know it's your turn signal control. you can either replace the control or fix it with washers and lithium grease like I did. It wasn't really hard. I used the Haynes manual and bought a stearing wheel puller. Still cheaper than the dealer or repair shop. I paid $60 overall.

Rear turn signal light bulb replacement

Yes, and easy access from the trunk. You will be able to remove the bolts from inside and the light assembly will be able to be pulled from the externior to replace all of them. It is not a real quick process, so when one goes out, I usually replace all of them.
