Question about 2004 Pontiac Grand Am
This morning my 1998 ford contour's horn just went off I don't have a remote or car alarm at all on this car. I did attempt to use my horn while driving yesterday however it never worked? I think there might be something wrong I went out and started it and it stopped however when I parked at the store it went off again when I tried to turn the vehicle off while in park I found that by stepping on the brake while taking the key out it stopped. However I live in an apartment complex and don't want this happening again lol. Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
The horn works by earthing, normally done by you pressing switch, if the horns wire or the internally creates a contact to earth(chassis) your horn will sound. Take your switch apart on you steering wheel & give it a clean.
Hope this helps, if not, remove wire at horn end, leaves you with no horn but peaceful nights.
Have a nice day.
