For Manual adjust mirrors only!
Remove the plastic cover on the outside of the mirror with a knife.
Undo the 2 Phillips screws that have been exposed.
Remove the plastic round cover and rubber cover from the manual adjuster on the inside of the car.
Remove the 2x 7mm nuts, now exposed, from the manual adjuster.

Pull the mirror off the car from the outside of the door.

Driver's side rear view mirror - how to fix adjustment mechanism?

I would first take the mirror apart to make sure the cable is still attached. Then if it is I would soak the cable with penetrating oil and put it back together and hope for the best.

Automatic mirrors do not adjust.

If you have not used the adjust feature on a regular basis the mirrors may have seized up.

Try pushing the glass in the direction that you are pressing the control in , sometime that is all it needs to get then working

As they say use it or lose it is the motto

Side Mirrors will adjust side to side but not up and down.

There are two tiny motors in each mirror. one for up/down. One for side to side. They have jack screws (plastic) that fit into the motors.

You can manually put your hands on either side of the mirror and force adjust it. If you hear a ratcheting sound, the jack screws are OK. Then repeat with hands on top and bottom.

If you hear ratcheting and mirror stays where you stop it, that means one of the motors is bad. The motor assembly is available as a separate part.
