Question about 2000 Buick LeSabre

Engine temp is fine - thermostat OK - no heat

Air flow is correct to all vents - A/C works fine - no warm air to any outlet. Probably the actuator but where is it and how do I get to it? 2000 Buick LeSabre

The blend motor to go from cold to hot is located on the blower motor housing. They are usually mounted close to the blower motor.

It should be under the dash. You should see a compartment where the air duct meets. Inside you should see the actuator and the door for the warm and cold air. Normally this is found at the center of the dash.

Was lack of heat in the cabin the only reason you changed the thermostat? Were the radiator hoses hot (or very warm) to the touch before you changed the thermostat? Were the heater hoses hot before you changed the thermostat? Did you get a check engine light and code stating that the engine was not getting (or slow getting) to operating temperature?
Getting heat from your heater depends on a blend door actuator letting air flow through the heater core in the HVAC unit. If your radiator hoses are hot, your heater hoses are hot, and you have no trouble code indicating the engine is not getting to operating temperature, but you are not getting heat inside the car, you need to check your blend door actuator or the control unit for the heater.

My 1996 honda accord doesnt heat up like it suppose to..unless its juss parked without any movement.. I drive it 2 miles away and it still doesnt heat up im concerned !! Any help ????


Thermostat stuck open?
Faulty temp sensor or gauge?
If heat comes out of the heater, engine thermostat is ok. That will isolate it to probably the temp sensor in the temp indication system (sensor & gauge).
The cooling system should be full. Temp sensors cannot read the engine temperature of steam or empty cooling galleries.

My 2005 kia sorento will not switch from hot to cold and vise versa. the mechanic is saying its probably the "airdoor actuactor motor / mixer actuator. any advice and where to buy this part(s) for a g


Sorry for your troubles ,
Temperature Hand in dash reading NORMAL ?
Does it Turn Blue to Red if so is do you feel friction or restraint like your turning something rather than freewheeling (smooth fast turning) or Digital and or does it show that it should be warm and not cold ?
Does the TEMP change at all(even the least little bit could narrow the results down) when knob is turned?
POSSIBLE - The Actuator/Motor that switches the VENTS very well could be BAD , Temperature Switch / Climate Control Switch (hot to cold could be broke at the base and only allowing the knob to turn and not in the switch ) Thermostat may be stuck open (keeping the engine running cool and smooth but no heat , maybe just a slight TEMP change when switched from Cold to Hot ). The A/C Switch is pushed in or turned on or broke and is stuck ON
FIXES - 1st- Check FUSES - If Temp HAND Reads Normal it not your THERMOSTAT. - Change the Control Switch / Temp switch - Check A/C Button/Knob . AUTOZONE is my place of business they PRICE MATCH AS WELL!

Heater and air condioning switch keeps making clicking noise


The noise is one of the actuators that moves the air flow doors into different positions. Common problem. When the noise happens, move the temp. control from cold to warm. If the noise goes away, it is the temp. actuator. Or, press the recirculation button to go from fresh air to recirc. If the noise goes away, it is the recirc. actuator. Or, change the mode from vent to heat. Could be the mode actuator. Usually the temp actuator acts up.

Peugot 407 heater not working


You more than likely have a problem with the temperature control blend door inside the air ducting, this door sits between the heater core and the AC evaporator core and mixes the air for the desired temp at the registers/vents. More than likely it is sticking due to being warped from heat. To replace this door and its actuator requires the dash be removed from the car.

If the temperature is cold outdoors, this can be a symptom of a stuck open thermostat. With the thermostat stuck open the engine never gets warm, so it won't give good heat. It's not expensive to get a new one, and they are easy to replace, so take it in and have it checked. Another symptom of that is very low gas mileage in the cold weather.

Likely it has more to do with the door that controlls the airflow. Which should be operated by vacum might check and make sure all thevacum lines are plugged in.

Does the gauge in the car show it warms up?

if you had heat before the problem than there is probably air still in the system . dont know your motor set-up , but it might have a bleed valve on the thermostat housing or a bypass line . if not , start the car and let it warm up ......in the mean time take the upper radiator hose off @ the radiator . When it heats up to normal temp , the coolant should flow out of the hose . that will tell you that the thermostat is opening , and it will also get the air out of the system @ the same time . As soon as it starts to flow , hook the hose back up and tighten . refill the cooling system back to the full line , than check for heat
GM is bad about getting air trapped in the system .
