Two fans on the car right. One is the radiator fan which will only come on once it receives a signal from the cooing fan switch that the car is getting hot. The other fan is for the a/c system and usually only runs when the a/c system is on and running. No they do not have a fan belt they are electrical.

No belt, electric. they should run anytime the a/c is on. they should come on when the engine is HOT like 225f or so.

We have a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. My question is: when the engine is running, does the radiator fan run constantly or intermittently?

electric fans start to operate when the coolant temp reaches around 88 c and will run continuously while the coolant is above that temp
if you have ac then there is a fan that cools the condenser in front of the radiator and that will cycle according to the ac compressor cycles

My honda cr-v 1999 is overheating how do I check the water pump is working?

the water pump will be working
what won't be working if fitted is
the viscous fan hub
radiator fans ,
coolant temperature sensor
fan relaypressure test the cooling system to check for cracked plastic tanks of the radiator
fan fuses
blocked radiator cores
thermostat
head gasket
so if the fan is driven by a belt then replace the viscous fan hub
have a compression test done to check head gasket
have an auto electrician check the cooling system electronics and fans
have a specialist radiator shop do a flow test on the radiator and have an accredited service shop check the operation of the thermostat

Why does my fan always run intermittently? During traffic jams my fan will run about 25 times intermittently, and I check my temperature it is still normal?

sounds like problem with the temperature sensor or relay that controls the fan(if electric) check the sensor and relay one may need to be replaced.

Fan intermittently stops

If undercover surveillance people with electronic weapons are aiming at the front of your car, they might be turning off the fan. Maybe a relay is going bad. There are two or three relays involved. If that is the cooling fan for the A/C, don't run the A/C or it might burn up. I've had to lift the hood to look to see if the cooling fan was going. When my fan eventually got frozen, the hose to the radiator blew up and took the nozzle to the radiator with it. Big expense, new radiator, water pump, cooling fan, relays.

Will the bad waterpump on a 2003 pontiac aztek cause the temperature to overheat sometimes but run good others?

the water pump is working
the problem indicates blocked radiator cores preventing full flow at high rpm
have it flow tested by an accredited radiator shop or just fit a new radiator

Sqeauling belt noise coming from middle front of my 1999ford explorer changed alt ,belt, pulleys, tensioner and it comes and goes .had aircon checked ,power steering all good could it be water pump but it...

Hello, The next time you hear the noise, try turning the AC/HEATER fan off. The fan in your ductwork can squeel intermittently when the bushings wear out or get dry. Another possiblity is your Electric radiator cooling fan.

The Electric radiator cooling fan operates intermittently in the first place, depending on the engine temperature or if the AC is set to work. There are usually 2 speeds and it toggles depending on need. If you disconnect the vehicle wiring connector and run the fan with a jumper to create an outside power source junction you can even use the original Battery to do this. What you are trying to do is hotwire the Radiator cooling fan into working when the jumper is connected.

Place any jumper wires away from the motor and run the car's engine to get the Voltage up to the way it was when it messed up. You will probably generate error codes and you should be careful not to overheat the vehicle. Those issues can be fixed at Autozone, Oreilys, and Advance autoparts with a free scan.

I hope my solution is very helpful to you.

Assuming that you are speaking of the radiator fans, they don't normally come on until the engine warms up. If the car was not overheating before the A/C belt belt was replaced, then the fans were working. Start the engine and feel the radiator where the upper engine radiator hose fits. When the thermostat opens, the radiator will suddenly get hot. The fans should come on shortly after that. Check the temperature sensor near where the upper hose comes off of the engine--there should be a wire attached to it. Does the temp gauge move normally?

use 50/50 mixture of coolant/water, use synthetic oil or no more than 5w 30. Change thermostat, make sure fans come on when idleing, otherwise change relay
