2000 gsr,1.8l,runs good when cold, after it is warm, when you put a load on the engine, car wants to buck and carry on,if you dowshift a gear or two to get the revs up,the car will usually recover and run fine.also if at idle you quicklypush the accelerator to the floor, the car will not rev, just stutter and will die if held to the floor too long, but if you accelerate slower the car will rev properly, fuel pressure is 42psi and jumps to 50psi when you hit the accelerator, also new plugs, wires, cap & rotor,no codes in computer

Re;2000 acura gsr, first off thanks for the help trying to solve my problem.it was an easy, but overlooked problem.when it started i had put new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter and air filter on from local parts store.this did not fix it.i was still stumped, since the car showed no codes.i talked with a local shop that woks on foreign high-performance cars.their input lead me back to the tune up.they highly recomended using factory honda plug wires,so i bought a set and put them on,this led to solving 50% of my problem.the next thing after discussing it furter with them was the spark plugs, the new ones i installed were correct but they told me to bump the gap to .024",and when i did the car now runs like a raped ape.so my suggestion to anyone tuning up you car and with a similar problem to mine, use the factory wires from the dealership and try closing the spark plug gap below factory specs, this worked for me,tanks again and i hope this can help others too.

Could be EGR - Fuel Filter - Fuel Pump or damaged Gas Tank. I'm sure you'll find the problem after checking these items. The fuel filter is the cheapest and the most necessary since the car is 9 yrs old. The other items really shouldn't need maintenance yet but freaky things happen. Good luck!

Trouble in cold weather

You may be correct with what you think the problem may be, but another good thing to check is your coolant level. A low coolant level could cause false readings from you coolant temp sensor, which in turn will cause an engine hunting condition that you described.

2002 jeep cherokee put new water pump and thermast in still getting hot like water is not flowing cheack top radiator hoses and its hot bottem hose is cold is it a bad radiator what can i do???

Hi David, How long did you run the engine before checking the temperature? The thermostat will only begin to open when the engine has warmed and the gauge begins to move. If after giving it a correct warming period it has still remained cold, I suggest the following. As you have already replaced the water pump, thermostat and radiator cap, the radiator may be blocked. Carry out a back flush, meaning, use a good quality radiator flushing chemical and follow the instructions carefully. Run the engine in accordance with the instructions. Let the engine cool and then draining, flushing the system by connecting a hose pipe with a fairly good head of pressure against the usual direction of flow. If that fails you may need to replace the radiator. Let me know how you get on, Happy new year Regards John

2000 Montero Sport 3.5l V6, automatic transmission. After starting cold vehicle and shifting into drive, transmission does not immediately enage until after several seconds and then "bangs" into...

Well when you are in cold weather and after a high mileage. The Transmission solenoids fails when its cold and they get stuck for a moment and all i can say is that you warm your car for a while before you leave your house and thats good for the engine too and aslo will keep your car running for a long time. Good luck

It's 12 degrees outside, how long should i leave the engine of my 2007 ford focus running to warm up?

Wait for the temp gauge to lift off of the low end stop. The car is then warm enough to drive. Be very gentle on the trans for the first 20 miles or so, because the transmission relies on engine heat to warm up the trans fluid. Cold trans fluid is very dense and can cause the transmission to slip, causing gear damage.

Engine misses and bucks till it warmes up then runs fine

EGR valve or system is bad. that is Exhaust Gas Recycling valve. It's a pollution device that recycles exhaust gas back through the engine once it warms up. It's not suppose to work while engine is cold so there is a thermostat system for it that closes off the EGR valve while engine is cool. Once it warms up then it opens the valve. If you're recycling exhaust gas while engine is cool it will run rough. This can be hard for the average guy to troubleshoot as you need check the vacumn switches and thermostat valve.
