1995 subaru impreza loses power sporadically, on occassion

There is a recent tuneup done, and fuel filter too. the car usually runs great but sometimes loses almost all power and just does not feel like its getting fuel fast enough or something. it doesnt stall but it runs very slowly with almost a complete loss of horsepower. i was told it may be the fuel pump but i checked that and its fine. now im being told it may be something with exhaust recirculation? or with some kind of solenoid? any suggestions would help.

The owner of the car should do to check the electrical system of the car.the owner of the car should be able to locate and check ignition system.Prepare the tools and equipment to be use in checking the ignition system.so that when the ignition system is checked it will function properly.Locate the ignition system ,the ignition switch ,the ignition coil ,the distributor assembly, the spark plug .checked corroded switch ,check ignition coil, check distributor assembly.the contact point gap, condenser.Check the high tension wires and terminals. check wires and connection ,check spark plug gap.observe all safety rules. and don't forget the battery,if the battery is low in electricity then you have to charge it. But if corroded then you have to clean it, but if worn out or malfunctioning then the battery should be replace. And all of these said parts of ignition system if there are worn out parts then replace them if corroded then clean them.If the owner cant do the job then it is advise that the owner should go to the car shop mechanic then the mechanic do the job done.

removing a battery terminal can often corrupt the CPU program in the ECM
first try using the scan tool to reset the ECM
check for cam sensor wires /loose connections from moving the harness around to remove the plugs

My 1995 Subaru Impreza sometimes has a problem starting because the choke sticks. How should I fix this?

It really is not a choke in the old sense. The temperature sensor by the throttle body butterfly measures the water temp and richens the fuel to start. If the sensor is bad it always says it is cold and enrichens the fuel thinking it is cold. Check the sensor and connection's. Hope this helps and have a great day.

1995 subaru will not restart when warm

Check your IAT . It controls fuel supply at start up. If it tells the computer the motor is cold it will flood the engine giving it extra fuel. Good luck and have a great day.

When driving my 1998 impreza all power to the car seems to go then come back on or i have to restart the car

Possible catalytic converter is becoming plugged. Another possible problem could be fuel filter. I would start with the fuel filter. Cheaper and easier. Good luck and have a great day.

I own a 94 impreza wrx imp, when accelerating fast engine seems to lose power or get stuttery after 4000rpm, this has only started since being serviced, any ideas?

I would start with the fuel filter. If the flow is restricted it drops pressure needed at higher RPM's. Then check Catalitic converter. May have restricted the exhaust flow. Always good to start with the basics. Good luck and have a great day.

1997 subaru HX20 impreza, when accerlating the car starts to stutter as if it is going to stall

If you have already done a good tune up and it still does it, I would check the fuel filter. IT allows the car to idle and run fine till you accelerate, then it cant maintain enough pressure for the injectors and will hesitate. Might want to check the OBD and see if it gives any readings in the computer. Good luck and have a great day.

SUBARU IMPREZA DONT RESTART WHEN THE MOTOR HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR ABOUT 40 MILES OR 30 MIN AND IT´S HOT.I CHANGED SPARKS,AIR FILTER, FUEL FILTER, COOLER TEMPERATURE SENSOR AND I CLEANED ALL PLUG OF THE...

Sounds like a sensor is breaking down under heat of engine.
Try the Crank sensor (under the alternator at front of engine with a 2 pin multiplug attached. Or the Cam sensor (more likely) placed behind the oil filler neck and looks the same as the crank sensor. Breakers should sell you these for approx £20 each.
If no joy let me know.
