Hi, this problem happens when the bower motor resistor goes bad. the reason it works on hi is because it is supplying full voltage and the other speeds are reduced voltages from the resistor. so replacing the blower resistor witch is very inexpensive will fix your issue!

let me know if you have any more question. good luck

Fan control switch only works on high

If you blower fan will only work on high know that most blower motors are power by a basic electrical circuit that utilizes a multi resistor or a solid-state resistor to control different fan speed modes (low, medium low, medium and high). If the resistor malfunctions it may lose one or more of the lower fan speed settings. First check the fuse and change if needed. If that doesn't fix things change the resister.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1992 chevy C1500: Heat works on low speed, no medium, and high only works intermittantly.

On any other vehicle it sounds like the blower fan switch.
The fan switch provides power or ground to the resistor and there would be a high speed blower relay to bypass the resistor.
But in your case the fan switch is part of the controller.
I don't have a diagram for a 92 but the 94 model shows relays for low medium and high speeds. Each relay gets power from a fuseable link. The high relay gets power thru the low relay if the low relay is not engaged.
If you have the model with 3 relays you may need to check them.

Hi Everyone. Quick question.. I have 1999 Plymouth Voyager. And for some reason my control switch to the ac won't work on low. It has 4 speeds. It works only on full blast. Im new to this. I just want...

I think you are referring the fan control switch. Normally the fan has to work before the AC will turn on.

So if the ac is working only on higher spped settings, you need to confirm if the fan is actually working at the low settings.

Air/heat blower is not working unless it is on high.

The heater resistor is probably faulty, its located near the blower fan

Your blower motor resistor needs to be replaced. when they go bad, for some reason the fan will only work on high. Replace that resistor and you will be good to go. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks for using FixYa!
