To start with, we need to find out what the code is. The flashing D light means a diagnostic trouble code is stored in the computer. Knowing this code is critical in deciding where to start.

You can take your car to an AutoZone and have the code checked for free. Once you have the codes, we can easily fix that.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

You can use Craftsman Scan Tool as well.

The indicator of D4 is to show there is a problem. I can tell you how
to clear this code but I feel you should get the codes for this vehicle
and see what it points to as the problem.

Here is how to get the codes from the ECM

92-95 Accord, Civic, Civic Del Sol and Prelude Retrieving Codes
ignition off, insert jumper wire in service check connector terminals,
located behind right side of dash on Accord, Civic and Civic Del Sol
and near center console on Prelude.
    Turn ignition switch to ON
position. Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) will be indicated by a series
of long and short flashes on MIL.
    The number of long flashes
indicates the number in the 10s column. The number of short flashes
indicates the number in the 1s column. For example, 4 long flashes
followed by 3 short flashes would indicate DTC 43.

    Clearing Codes
Disconnect the negative battery cable for at least 10 seconds to clear codes.
HERE is a file on self diagnostics.

Once you get the codes we can test for the components it says are
related. We will try to test for anything instead of replace to test.

If your Model is 93, follow the below .pdf ,

    Hope i helped you.

D4 light will flash and car wont start

Might need to replace your transmission control module located under your pass side floor carpet. Remove the plastic kick panel to the right of the passenger's foot, carefully pull back as much carpet as you can. There you'll see the cage for the ECU and your trans control unit. The trans computer is the smaller one. Good luck.

92 honda accord lx D4 flashes

you have a transmission fault the D4 light blinks to tell you that there is a transmission problem when the light is blinking the transmission computer put the transmission into limp home mode so it will not shift normally and you should try not to drive it very far when it gets to this stage you need to have the transmission codes check to pin point the problem

Problem with the Transmission! Get the code read at Autozone or better yet Honda Dealership. It could be as simple as a speed sensor if you have ABS, or as bad as a Transmission or Control Module.

94 honda d4 flashes and wont start

Its flashing a transmission related fault code. Count the flashes before and after the pause and it will give you the fault code.

Post it on here as a comment and we'll tell you what it means.

If it flashes a 1 and then an 8 then you need to renew the main relay.
