Brakes squeal on startup of 2002 Suzuki Grand Vitara

    Thanks,

I hear the squeal when I first start driving, and then press the brakes. After I've been driving a while there's no more squeal. Only when I first start out.

When you say startup do you mean turning the key to start the vehicle or as you start driving? If you hear a squeal when you start the vehicle then thats your power steering belt, you may have to replace it.If you hear it as you drive and press the brakes that means your low level brake sensor is going off.You need to replace brake pads.

It could be either brake dust(if the pads are fairly new) or as I said the sensor going off if it's near time to replace the pads.Another possibility for a sqeal is a brake caliper might be leaking.

If u are not moving in drive "D" the brake rotor is not moving/turning, brakes are just on.
what u might be hearing is the serpentine drive belt squealing at start up. replace this belt asap.

My 2005 suzuki grand vitara XL7 brakes squeal everytime i come home and pull up slowly. We have had them checked and the mechanic said they are fine just had alot of dirt in them that could be causing

Rusty disc rotors can sometimes cause this issue, dirt as well, but often times it can be caused by riding your brakes, the braking friction material becomes hard if heated enough, resulting in a high pitched squeek or squeal as you pull up, this doesn't effect the normal operation of the brakes, and in the cases of "high performance" brake replacements that use harsher friction materials, is part of normal operation.

My Zusuki is a 2002 grand vitara.I just noticed a serious brake fluid leakeage from the rear (driver side) drum. What is exactly happening to the brake, what is the cause of this leakeage ? Thanks in...

Either your rear brake hose is leaking or your drum brake wheel cylinder is leaking. You will have to remove the wheel and drum to accurately find that leak.
