I have a 2002 F 350 crew cab dually with a 7.3 . I have been having a problem with the batteries going dead. It seems if I have a door open for 10 or 15 minutes and I go to start it later the moor turns over a few times then is dead. It seems if I charge for 15 minutes it starts like it has new batteries. The batteries are about 2 years old. If I dont open a door for a long time it seems to start fine for weeks at a time. There is never a blown fuse. Would appreciate any help.
Two years old? time to change those units, they sound like they are not holding charge for any lenght of time. two optimum batteries should do the trick
The dome light is draining the batt.
pull neg batt cable off when truck is running to see if the alternator is working correctly. check that glove box, hood,trunk/cargo light is shutting off when they should be.
