Try checking the ignition fuse in the fuse box unde the hood. if it doesn't have a good connection or if there is a short it could cause the car not to start. my grand am is doing the same thing and i tried cleaning the connection of the fuse, but i think i may have to replace the fuse box because there might be a short.

remove the top cover that says 2.4 L on it, the spark plugs are underneath. Like me, you'll feel like an idiot for not knowing.

You need a new starter solenoid. It is essentially a heavy duty remote switch that is activated by your ignition key switch. The solenoids get stuck or don't conduct well after 6 to10 years.

Im having fuel pump issues. could you please tell me where the fuel pump is located on a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am SE

The fuelpump is located inside the gas tank, you will need to drop the tank to replace the pump, heres a picture of the pump and in goes in through the top of the tank, the fuelpump is called a fuelpump module because it comes complete with holder sending unit and all other parts as you will see in the picture, hope this helps, good luck.johnjohn2_17.jpg

Pulled out of my driveway it hesitated than took off went about ablock and died tried to start it and wont start

If there was not service engine soon light, good chances are that your fuel filter has reached the end of it's life and is to dirty to allow the fuel to flow through properly. Start with the simple and replace the fuel filter after you inspect all your fuses to ensure your fuel pump is still working.

Thank you for using fixya and a dirty fuel filter or faulty fuel pump will not set the service engine soon light to come on.

Car won't start--stopped running while driving appears to be fuel pressure did not overheat--trac off light followed by the service engine soon light came on while driving and within a couple miles the car...

Check the fuel pressure.
If no pressure, then check for power at the pump when cranking. If not, it is the fuel pump relay. You an pull it and put a jumper across the secondary leads to get it to run.

Is the security light active? If yes it will have to get reprogrammed by the GM dealer as GM has this as a propriatory system... Meaning no one else can work on it.
