How do i emptythe gas tank on a 2000 mercury mountaineer

Here are two ways:
You can take the filler hose off from the gas tank and put a siphon hose in there. Siphon it into 5 gallon cans.

Another way is to pull off the main gas feed line that goes from tank to the engine. Just find a convenient spot to pull the line apart, like possibly right before the fuel filter. Then you will need to activate the fuel pump to have it push the gas out. The easiest way to activate the pump is to find the fuel pump relay (under the hood in the fuse/relay block) and pull it out. Then use a short jumper wire into the two correct terminals where the FPR plugs in. This will automatically start the fuel pump and you can push all the gas out of the tank.
Most of the time, the two terminals at the FPR will be numbered 30 and 87. Look on the relay for terminal identification. You are jumping the main power feed line at the relay to the line going to the fuel pump. Do not guess, or you could damage your engine computer if you put the jumper wire in the wrong terminal. At the relay, you are jumping the power side of relay. The other terminals at the relay are for the coil side of the relay. Jump the power side!

Need to know what 3 lines from fuel tank go

The pump line, or feed line, goes to the fuel filter and then to the engine's fuel rail. A return line leaves the fuel rail and sends gas back to the tank. Usually, the feed line is slightly larger than the return line, not always.
The third line is a vent line for emission controls-routing gas fumes from the tank to the charcoal canister, where it is stored and later sent to the engine to be burned.

I need to replace a broken fuel pressure regulator line on my 2004 chevy impala. I need to know where the line leads underneath the vehicle

The black plastic line goes to the map sensor - there should be a tee fitting to connect it there. It does not go under the engine or the car.
The steel fuel lines do go under and back to the gas tank.

My 1996 dodge neon is not getting any fuel to the system. theres gas in the car a brand new fuel pump and filter. what could be wrong?

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. Fuel is pumped out of the tank by the fuel pump. It then goes to the fuel filter. Then, it goes through the gas lines to the injectors and engine. You need to scan your gas lines and make sure they are not damaged or clogged. If the lines are ok, you need to check your injectors. Check your fuel pump fuse/relays and reset button, if equipped. I am guessing the car will not start? Thanks for using FixYa.

Check engine light -- daewoo disgnostic trouble code p0442..what is it and is a major/minor problem --performed visual inspec. on fuel cap, evap hoses and canister..all sign of leak noticed when...

Okay no leaks so this means the vent valve is closing, how did you get valve to close? if there are no leaks and vent valve is closing and sealed when you smoke tested it then i would say to replace the purge valve, this is easy to change and not costly, just a dealer part or maybe you can find on the web, hope this helps.

2002 firebird evap system 0440 code check engine light is on. i changed the entire gas tank and got a new canister new gas cap too lights still on sensor?

Are you using ethanol blended fuel? If so stop and use unleaded only and see if after 2 tanks you can clear the code. If that doesn't help and your evap canister has 2 hose connections, try plugging the hose connection that doesn't go to the tank at the first point of connection away from the canister. Plug the line that goes to the first point of connection side of that line (vacuum side). Let the canister side of that line vent to atmosphere during this test.

Well its this line that come from my gas tank

There is a leak in the line itself. This happens over time from road grime. You can repair this yourself quite easily once you pinpoint exactly where the leak starts. Hope this helps.
