We just replaced the coil pack and the motor started but kept dying. Now it will not even start

I was just thinking about the sudden stall problem ,and no start problem .Have you checked the coil pack. When the car is cold it should start ,when it warms up ,with the under hood temps ,it will probably stall ,again. Try replacing the coil pack .

Kept having cam shaft censor code, replaced it 5 times nothing changed, changed plugs and wires to discover #2 plug was all corroded,should we replace the power pack


I would replace all plugs first and see how it runs. If it has a miss, then I would start switching coil packs from another plug onto the #2 plug and see if the miss follows the coil pack. If so, then replace it. It the coil looks burnt at all, replace it immediately.

Why does my 93 Caravan Start fine and run great till it warms up then dies and wont start untill it cools back down.


I had the same problem a few years ago and it was the coil pack breaking down. If it starts missing before it dies id get a new coil pack. Before u buy a coil pack you need to get it warm again and just before it dies look underneath the vehicle to see if the catalytic converter is starting to get hot, if it is hot and usually getting red hot, its stopped up.It will fool you in to thinking that the coil is bad.

I have a 2001 Rio 145,000. It started losing power (speed) taking off , then it just died, tried starting but would not turn motor, got it home and the starter was working but the car would not...


test for fuel from fuel pump check for spark from plugs check all fuses if not getting spark replace coil pack if not getting fuel replace fuel pump

Non starter


try replacing starter motor.
Repeatedly cranking it over only heats the the starter motor , this then softens the solder and it gets thrown, then the starter requires more power from the battery leaving insufficient for the coil pack.
Push starting give the power to the coil pack .. and the engine runs

Will crank but won't start


I have seen a lot of trouble with coil packs lately. The first thing I would do is put a coil back on that I knew would make the motor run. It would not surprise me to hear that the new one is also bad. I don't think I would buy a new one until I was sure that the one on the car is bad. my suggestion is a no-cost method to know for sure.
If that does not work I would get a gauge and check the fuel pressure.
Also check to see that the timing belt is not broken. Look in the oil cap filler to see if the valve train moves while someone cranks the motor.
This will keep you busy for a while. Let me know what happens.
