My 2007 chrysler 300 radio makes a popping noise a d then sound stops after a while turn radio back on and sound is working

the speakers maybe blown out, there mite be a short in the system, the antenna maybe loose or have short in the connector, there a short in an electronic component in the radio, it also could be a grounding issue, when you hit a bump it looses it connection or the unit has short in the receiver and it cuts out the signal in the radio station, losing power some where, if i was you go to stereo shop or buy new radio, all the money you would spend looking or trying to repair would cost you a lot of money, troubleshooting, radio, speakers, wiring, shop supples, no warranty after wards,
good luck

2005 CTS _ What would cause the audio system CONTROLS, while Driving down the road to quit working, while the system continued to play?

Have to have the factory diagnostic manuals for the answer

That may require a dealer & they will most likely bring someone
in at night to do entertainment/radios etc

I doubt many local shops are up to speed on all those systems
out there & may never care to get involved

There are a thousand makes & models of vehicles now,so your
going to have to cut back & specialize in what you like to work on

Radio volume cuts in and out on 2005 Lexus RX330

I had the same problem and found a loose connector at the amplifier under the rr passenger side seat. To access the amp you need to slide rr seat fwd and fold the seats and remove the carpet clips. Instect all the connector to the amp. One may not be snapped in all the way.

Cruise control doesn't work in 88 accord. The light works on the dash, but the buttons on the steering wheel won't work.

Let's start by checking the cruise control throttle linkage cable, just follow the cable coming from the cruise control servo to the throttle linkage, were it connects. The plastic clip at the end of the cable gets britle and over time, it brakes.

Check fuse
Check for loose conections and broken wires.
The cruise control system is operated by vacuum, check vacuum hoses for cracks, loose connections and obvious leaks.

Due to the complexity of the cruise control system, this is about all you can do to fix the problem.

If you can't detect the problem, take the vehicle to an authorized service shop for diagnostic and repair.

Good Luck!!!!

Error codes p0442 & P0455

Those are both Evaporative Emission Control System related.
442 is a small leak has been detected.
455 is a bigger leak has been detected.
Check all your connections, (electrical & vacuum lines) as well as check for any cracked, loose vacuum hoses in the system, as well as clean "O" ring on your gas cap well and threads in filler pipe & make sure gas cap is tight. Do the gas cap first & see if codes dissappear, but it may take a new gas cap. These codes commonly appear shortly after getting gas, due to cap not back on tight.

1997 Pathfinder - 5 speed - shuts off whle driving

Try replacing the fuel pump relay or swapping it out with another relay. As the relay heats up it my fail due to the fuel filter being dirty causing the electric fuel pump to work harder pulling more amps. The other thing to is the wire harness or where the fuel pump wire harness connects to the fuel tank could have a break in the wire and when the wire heats up, the connection may break and when it cools off it may have connection again till it heats up again. Recap, check the relay and replace or swap it with another relay under the hood and check the wire harness at the gas thank since it's prone to corrosion there due to the winter months. You do have a 12 year old truck. Good luck and hope this helps, keep me posted,be glad to help keep you rolling.

Rear defogger is not working

check the clips...sometimes they do corrode. check if there is voltage present when you turn on the defogger. if there is voltage, then the defogger itself is faulty. it could just be a loose connection at the clip.

watch out, the clip is very hard to pull.

if there is no voltage, then trace the circuit , it could be a bad relay or fuse.

tnx 4 using fixya,

if your car keeps cutting out is because you might have a loose connection to the battery. if your vehicle is running and it looses connection with battery it should still stay running. if it dies it means that you have a bad altenator.

My taurus failed due to code p0442 ecap emiss ctl sys leak detected (small leak)

Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0442 indicates that a fuel vapor leak has been detected [as small as 0.10 cm (0.04 inch)] in the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) system.
Note: Prior to performing the following diagnosis inspect the Canister Vent Solenoid (CV) for contamination. A situation may exist where contamination holds open the Canister Vent (CV) solenoid enough to set DTC P0442 and also plugs the port to atmosphere enough to keep system from being vented quickly.
    • After market parts and accessories nonconforming to the EVAP system specifications.
    • Damaged, cross threaded or loosely installed fuel filler cap.
    • Small holes or cuts in fuel vapor hoses/tubes (EVAP canister tube, EVAP canister outlet tube or EVAP return tube) in the EVAP system.
    • Loose fuel vapor hose/tube connections to EVAP system components.
    • EVAP system component [EVAP canister purge valve, fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor, canister vent (CV) solenoid, fuel vapor control valve tube assembly or fuel vapor vent valve assembly] seals leaking.
    • CV solenoid partially open when commanded closed.
    • EVAP canister leaking.
  • Check for presence of fuel filler cap.
  • Verify that the CV solenoid is properly seated on the EVAP canister (if possible).
  • Visually inspect for cut or loose connections to fuel vapor hoses/tubes in following locations:
    • EVAP canister to EVAP canister purge valve.
    • EVAP canister to fuel vapor vent valve assembly.
    • fuel vapor control valve tube assembly to fuel tank (if applicable).
