Engine light is on and very heavy on fuel backfiring when pressing accelerator

Engine lite means engine is not running properly, backfire means you have a ignition problem, bad spark plug wires, bad spark plugs heavy on fuel means it is not burning the fuel properly to get good power from it. Check or replace plugs and wires. put some injector cleaner into the fuel tank if it is fuel injected

My 01 outback is loosing power and backfires

If check engine light is flashing its plugs or coils maybe injector, but fuel pressure is very important, it will idle ok but not drive good. Other possibility is cat clogged

Why my 1997 f150 4.2 runs bad

Fuel supply or valve-train issues come to mind.
If the fuel mixture is lean, that will cause backfiring and loss of power. Poor fuel atomization caused by incorrect pressure or plugged injectors should be considered.
Cam timing is a possible issue. Has the cam drive slipped?
Best wishes!

Back fireing through carbarator will not start and vacume lines

this year of car has throttle body injection not a carburetor, the backfiring could be the fuel pump relay not allowing the pump to power up,or a plugged fuel filter,or a bad fuel injector,if their isn`t at least 15lbs fuel pressure the injectors will not open to spray fuel

Engine Trouble

Your getting backfires? hmm interesting. Seems like your engine is getting flooded and either purging it out of the exhaust or burning it all at once or both (backfire). Sounds like a leaky engine valve to me.There again the bluish smoke indicates to me thatyou are leaking oil somewhere- bad rings or head gasket maybe, which could cause a loss of compression which could also cause your problems. That rattling from the left/rear side sounds like a bad muffler try kicking the muffler (not hard though) next time you walk by it.

Backfiring and loss of power

'till you do some in depth testing of all systems, I'd place equal weight on every possibility. Make sure you cover the basics like fuel filter etc before getting crazy with it though. Also check cap. rotor, coil and wires. Idle cylinder pressure is different than that encountered when driving. This additional pressure will cause ignition spark to seek a better easier ground,(not the spark plugs where it should be going) causing missing under load. After checking , if you haven't found anything, its time to begin testing fuel pump pressures, modules and controls.
good luck
