The cam sensor is located at the bottom of the timing chain cover just off center line, here is a picture of it, would like to know the code you have, the crank sensor is the more common part to fail. You also don't say engine type, there are 3 engines, this solution is for a 6.0L gas V8

there is no clear info about the cam sensor location, it is either in the cam chain cover in front of the engine or in the valley between the cylinder heads at back of intake manifold. also this can be caused by a defective power train control computer, known as a PCM

go to the link to read full diagnostic of this problem, u may be better off to take this to a dealer to sort it out i the new sensor doesn't cure the problem, it will be money well spent.

Where is the cam sensor in a 2002 nissan quest?

HI Chuck! The cam position sensor is inside the distributor on the quest. If the cam sensor has gone bad you need to replace the distributor assembly as it is not servicable. Before replacing the distributor, take the cap off and make sure the rotor is turning when you crank the engine. If it is not then check the timing belt as the distributor is driven by the cam shaft. If the belt is broken the cam shaft will not turn and you could get this code. The cam sensor is located under the plastic cover located under the rotor button

2005 ford excursion cam sensor location I need to change the cam sensor and the crank sensors on my excursion and i do not know where they are located

On my 02 Excursion with the 7.3L Diesel, the Cam Position Sensor is located at the front bottom of the engine on the passengers side. There is one electrical pigtail plug that is attached and one bolt holds the sensor in position. It may be located in a similar location on your 05 Ex. I do not know where the crank sensor is located. I hope this helps.

How to find where the cam shaft sensor is located

The cam shaft position sensor is located right behind the exhost cam by the fire wall. It is held by two 10 mm bolts, one on each side of the sensor. If you got the hood up and looking at the engine the cam that is on the right hand is the exhost cam. To get to the CPS you have to remove the intake and cam top cover.
