Highly unlikely it's the switch. It's your resistor on the bottom of the blower motor. Replace this and you will have all speeds again. Very common problem on our TB's.

Heat/ac on works on highest setting

Sounds like the blower motor resistor is no good. Easy to change it.

Heater only works on highest setting. . .sometime rear blower works then not....

The fan switch sounds bad. At first, settings 1 & 2 on mine did not work, then 3 went out too. I replaced the switch and fixed the problem. Two screws on the outer lower portion hold the center console bezel in. Then two screws hold the heat control panel.

THE BLOWER FAN ONLY WORKS ON HIGH - THIS IS THE CASE WHETHER THE HEAT OR AC IS ON.

Different speed settings on the blower motor is achieced by using resistors mounted on a circuit board usually fitted in the airstream of the system. For the highest speed setting the blower motor is connected directly to the battery (by way of the switch of course). Lower fan speeds are achieved by lowering the voltage(using a resistor between the battery and fan). These resistors get pretty hot and sometimes burn through thereby not letting power through to the fan motor. The first place to start looking would be under the passenger side dash. Look for a connector plug in the ducting close to the fan motor with at least 3 wires connected to it. On the Silverado for instance it is accessed from below the glovebox, there is a large plastic cover that needs to be removed first. It is fitted to the fan housing.

AC and Heat/Defrost only work on highest setting; and heat gets way too hot. Any ideas? Is it the blower or something?

Sounds like your blower motor relay. Look on your unit housing (under the hood), there should be a plug, disconnect it, find your power lead and use a jumper to different posts. You'll know as your fan speed will change. Hope this helps

Why has the fan setting for the ac/heating has stopped working

The switch is uaually the culprit when it goes dead. Does the highest speed work when the AC is on? If so the fan switch is at fault. If nothing works as you put it the blower resistor is burnt out

Keeps switching back to outside air from recirculating on my ac

No obvious reason for this behavior, so it is likely the control head is failing. You may be able to get a used one at a salvage yard.

Is the coolant full ? Any discoloring of the coolant ,look like muddy water ? gm dexcool antifreeze if mixed with regular green coolant can gum up the works , clog heater cores , radiators etc.... Have you ever had the thermostat changed , cooling system flushed ?

2004 elantra heater control only operates at #4 setting

If # 4 is the highest fan setting it might be the resistor pack that controls the fan speeds. For each speed increase the fan switch takes a resistor out of the resistor loop The highest speed is a direct connection to the battery. The switch is usually located very close to the fan since it gets quite hot and needs to be cooled by the fan.It is also generaly accessible from under the hood, but not always.Sometimes it is under the dash Hope this helps.
