Question about 2004 GMC Envoy

1 Answer

2004 Envoy Blower moter was working on all settings except #4. Now the blower will work only once in awhile at any setting. Could this be a blower resistor problem? If so how would I change this out? Do I have to worry about the resistor connector not matching the new resistor...Thanks

It probably is the resistor. The connector on these also would melt. If that happened, you have to replaced the blower resisitor and the connector. The replacement connector is available at dealers, but all the leads are white. It's best top replace each wire one at a time, so you don't cross any wires.

Heater on my trail blazer only works on 3-4 setting

Most likely a bad blower motor resistor. It is what controls your speeds. It is located within a foot of the blower motor. In the duct that blower motor blows into. The motor blows on it to cool it off.

My heater and AC blower not working. Please help

In the fuse block, under the hood on top of the fender. Locate fuse #35 it's 40amp fuse for the blower moter. If the fuse is ok,there is another
common problem you can check. The blower moter resistor assembly,
located under the dash on right side. With a 12v test light check for
power to the blower moter from the resistor. If you have no power to the
moter, replace the resistor assembly. If niether of these works, I'll need
to know if you have climate control or manual control hvac. And for some reason, the wheel base. long wb or short wb. to dig any deeper.
But I hope one of the causes I've mentioned will cure the problem.
Good luck.

AC only works on settings 3 & 5

souns like a bad blower resistor.the resistor controls the different speeds.sometimes every speed except the highest will stop working.the blower resistor is almost always near the blower motor.

sounds like the blower motor has burned out, that would account for the weird smell as u say, the blower motor is on the passenger side under the dash.

Sounds like the blower motor resister to me this piece controls the speeds of the blower motor it should be close to the blower motor on the passenger side it should have wires going to the blower motor very easy to replace.

Blower moter has 1 speed

I would replace the resistor first. More than likely this is the problem and inexpensive.
