If you see splices in there, even if there is a solid plastic connector, then it has been hardwired. Not a huge deal if you have a voltmeter. You will destroy your new deck if you do not properly ground the new unit and or you touch 12V to the casing. Been there done that. If you are in the Oshkosh WI area, I have years of installation experience and could help out.

Hardwired? why not use an aftermarket adapter wiring harness to put it in, no cutting of wires required.

How can i replace 1991 maxima radio system?

The original radio is a BOSE system and it has a buit in amp. So if you replaced the deck you need to replace the speakers all so. Don't cut the wires to hook-up the deck buy an addapter KIT. It's not just the stereo that runs though that harness the factory alarm does all so and that will cause you problems. Anyway back to the stereo you need to add an amplifier and problem sovled.

Radio lights are out

I would just put in an aftermarket. I think once they are out, they're out. I don't really know how to take that deck apart, but it's pretty easy to put in an upgraded one.

Hello, Chose another powersource for your device. It is possible that you are tied into a circuit breaker that is constantly resettting. Maybe use an MP3 player for the trip and work on it when you get back.

Can i install cd deck in pontiac grand am without wire harness

That depends on several factors:
What CD Deck? Some can fit directly, others won't. Check the deck specifically to see it it will.
Do you want to hardwire the deck? If so, find wiring diagrams and install per both manufacturer's recommendations.

Can you just replace the fm antenna tip going into a car stereo

I'v seen people using coat hangers for FM radio antennas,  I use speaker wire for my stereo and it comes in Crystal clear.  You can replace the tip and have things work fine as far as I know.

first of all putting in non genuine stereos usually you have wires left check the fuse in back of stereo check all your fuses under your dash and in the bonnet even if wires touched momentarely its enough to blow multiple fuses which may be your problem your wiring may be fine see how you go
