Question about Chevrolet C1500
There are only a few things that cause high idle speeds, one is vacuum leaks, did you use propane to check for leaks? as far as the EGR goes, that would cause the engine to stall if if it was help open, and if it is inop there is no affect at all except maybe an engine ping under load, the same goes for the MAP sensor, the only sensor that can affect this idle is the TPS, that is the Throttle Position Sensor, you need to check the voltage of the signal return on that sensor with the Key on, it should not exceed .90 volts, if it does it can raise the idle speed, another issue on this engine is a warped throttle blade, it can allow air to leak around a closed throttle and have seen idle speeds of 1500 RPM due to this problem, and last but by no means least why haven't u run a trouble code test on this? here is how you do that.
