Don't see it often, but the pressure relief in the pump likely is gummed up.
Sometimes using a very good engine flush like the one made by Amsoil will dissolve the crud in there and restore operation but most times you will need to replace the oil pump.

Blows rubber gasket out of oil filter

Are you sure the old seal was removed when you pulled the previous filter off? This is more likely then coincidence that relief valves not release any excess pressure.

1 Answer 1999 vw polo classic 1.4i is blowing oil with pressure from the o-ring on the oil filter. just finished overhauling the engine. didnt replace the oil pump though.have resorted to replacing the entire...

First check and see if the seal on the filter lines up right. Use your filter wrench to snug the filter a little extra. Try to put a manuel oil presure gauge on it. If this fails Im assuming having just rebuilt the engine you have a manuel. Check it out and find out where your oil pressure regulator is. Its probably sticking.

Oil filter seal keeps pop in out when I start the car 1999 Buick regal 6 cyl

The only time I've ever seen an oil filter gasket pop out on startup is when the gasket from the old filter had stuck on and the filter was thus installed with two gaskets. If that isn't the problem, It sounds like the oil pressure bypass valve is stuck and the pressure is building WAY too high. If you have an oil pressure guage, it would read very high.

What could cause an oil leak in a 2002 MB C240? What is the best case scenario and worst case scenario. The leak is actually a slow drip.

If you had the oil changed lately and the "O" ring stuck where the filter unscrews and someone proceeded to put the new filter on without looking this can cause a problem. Putting too much oil in the crankcase can cause a seal to blow. A leak at the oil pressure switch. A loose or not sealed oil drain plug. You will need to try to locate whether it is coming from the bottom or at the top around the valve pan cover which is the most likely place, and if it that is the case; it still can drip through the night while it sets, which is missleading. If you can't find any noticeable places...that is a good place to the valve pan cover...seal it real well with RTV sealer, let it dry over night and see if the problem goes away.

Shooting oil out of dipstick

Your engine breather system is blocked....this means that the only way that the compression caused on ignition that is getting past the piston rings and into the block can escape is via the dipstick tube.
Check breather for kinks and some have filters ensure that these are not blocked

1995 astro oil pressure low on gauge

GM oil pressure senders have a pretty high failure rate. Since your van is over 10 years old, and pressure senders are not too expensive.
I would start by replacing your sender...there's a pretty high likelihood that you will eventually replace it anyway. Change the oil and filter every 3000 miles and use a 10W30 with a Lucas oil treatment and with a can of Restor would not hurt ether.
Getting to expensive to buy and replace a good running van over some light routine mantance for around $20.00 every 3000 to 5000 miles.
Good luck and hope this helps.
