It seems like the problem might be the Mass Air Flow sensor. My truck had the same problem, so I did a diagnostic check. Code was P0100. I changed the MAF sensor and the problem was gone. The part set me back 323.00 bills. Oh well. After you replace the part, be sure to check your spark plugs because a bad MAF sensor can mess them up.

Check the rpm in neutral should be around 800-850, this should drop to 500-550 in drive or reverse.

2000 dodge stratus 2.4l dohc stalls at stops starts up with very light touch of gas pedal may or may not stall again for a coule stops but will again rpms go from around 800 at idle to 500 then 200 th

If it's fuel-injected, you may need to have the injectors cleaned, and also, any air filters should be changed at the same time along with gas filter/s. If it's carbureted, the same as above, but have someone clean the carburetor completely. Make sure all air hoses are attached correctly, securely and NOT broken. If broken, replace them.

Car idles at minimal rpm and stalls unless i add rpm while applying brake while stopped. I has been suggested it is the IAC valve. Where is it located?

It is located on the side of the throttle body. I doubt this is your problem. I would start by checking and replacing the air filter. Clean it if you have that type. The IAC pulls air from the same place the throttle body. The air filter. These do get clogged up. To check just remove the filter and start the car. If the rpm's come up, then you know for sure this is it. Don't just replace parts on suggestions. Before you know it you will have the parts changed and still have the same problem.

Try looking at your air filter. You could have a vacuum leak, like you already said. Also, check your coolant sensor and intake air temp sensor, if equipped.

1993 jeep grand Cherokee...stutter in drive at low rpm

Hello;
Have you checked your fuel pressure and volume? You may not be getting the ful sufficiently to the injectors. Also, change your fuel filter if you haven't already. Is the check engine light on?
Thanks;

Loses the power and starts stalling

The IAC valve requires resetting .
First locate the IAC valve located on the side of the throttle body and has 4 wires going to it .Procedure is as follows
Ignition key on ,unplug the IAC ,turn key off ,reconnect the IAC .do this 3-4 times .restart the car and hold the rpm at 2000 rpm and slowly lower until it idles by it self .
