Have trans fluid drained and replaced. Don't have it flushed. Have them also clean the drain bolt off really good. It has a magnetic tip to collect debris (fine metal shavings). If this doesn't work it might be your transmission computer module. Hopefully it's one of the two!

SOURCE: 1998 honda accord automatic....when i change from

Make sure you report the problem to the National Highway Transportation Safety agency (www.nhtsa.gov). Also-research the web and you will find hundred similar complaints and a successful class action lawsuit in California against Honda for 1999-2001 Accord transmissions that showed the same malfunction code. The California settlement required Honda to repair transmissions and extend warranties up to 109,000 miles and 93 months.

These Transmissions are hard to FIX...I found very few rebuilders that can pull it off... They were recalled in 2000 ....sorry but it is no easy fix... the ONLY OTHER CLUNKING could be a problem is : your motor mounts are vacuum assisted meaning if you have a vacuum leak they will not stiffen the mounts correctly.... it sound crazy but look underneath you have small 5/16 vacuum lines near the radiator mount and some have it ont he firewall mount... I drive 99 Ex Accord!!!! rebuilt tranny 2 times !!!! make sure you get a warranty if you do...2000-2400 is a good cost....

My 2000 honda when shiftng from1 to 2 gear (automatic 4 speed) it will be running 3000 Rpms and kicks up to 4000 and changes gears rough, 2-3 AND 3-4 IS SMOOTH. wHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND TO FIX THIS?

The transmission is slipping, try changing the fluid first. If that doesnt take care of the problem your transmission will need a overhaul.

I fixed my transmission and its still missfiring, what can it be

Tranmissions don't misfire - they are just a bunch of gears.
You're engine can be misfiring - replace the spark plugs, plug wires, and cap and rotor.

Honda accord 1997 my car is having trouble idling it was over heating it had a hole in the radatior and i got that fixed and now it is having trouble staying started its puttering all the way threw first...

Sadly, it sounds like the overheating caused the cylinder head to warp. If this is the case, the head needs to be pulled out and resurfaced. Many times, when the head warps, it will contaminate the cooling water.... look for traces of oil in the coolant. Other times, you will be able to see a white cloud, water vapor, coming out of the exhaust. One remote possibility is that when the radiator was fixed, a sensor was disconnected, and if this was the case, the check engine light should be on.

Would a rough 2nd gear change be due to low gear lubricant or transmission fluid? It feels notchy, and I have to change gently and let the clutch out slowly ..would a lubricant help?

It is usually due to dirty unchanged fluid and/or the lack of fluid. Every one I know that has ever owned a Honda says to put 5w-30 engine oil into the transmission. I have never felt a smoother shifting transmission than a Honda filled w/ engine oil, NO JOKE!!!. Ask around on some forums, by all means get a second or third opinion.
