What's the diode fuse on a 1993 ford explorer

What's the diode fuse on a 1993 Ford Jason, Diode is the voltage leg that goes to the coil side of power control module power relay. The diode allows voltage to flow in only one direction, toward the pcm relay. Not allowing voltage/current spike in the opposing direction toward the pcm.

I have a 95 Lexus es300. My alternator went bad no big deal right! So I changed it out everything was fine but I notice major power drain after a week. the diode had went bad. So luck of the draw I figured...

Diodes fail from excessive current flow for the diode. For this to happen there has to be a short in the diode circuit . Take the vehicle to an accredited auto electrician for an evaluation of the circuit where the failure is occurring

Alternator bad diode

is this a question,?
1: is mine bad, how to test it or find it, in the global sense?
2: where to buy one.
3: which brands are best.
4: how to do a basic diode test , front to back ratio testing.
5: what are the symptoms of a bad diode.

ill throw the ice 2+3 = 5.
the Modern ALT has many diodes. (and more{in dah reg})
the 2 main, sets are , the 3 phase set.
and the keep alive pack.
ill not cover the keep alive pack or the regulator diodes..
the 3 phase pack take the 3 AC phases and converts them to Pulsating DC. (in effect simulating a DC generator)
if 1 diode opens , you lose, 1/3 of the total power.
so 50 amp alt is now a 33 amp alt. (weak as a cat)

if the diode shorts, it becomes this huge noise generator.
(turn on the AM radio , here it sing and raise pitch as you gun the throttle (i use a scope to see bad diodes) bingo.
the noise can in fact cause any electronics on the car to go nuts.

the diodes also have one other feature, ill skip here, (zener actions)

Can i fix or replace my pcm power diode

Power diode is crystalline semi conductor device that is mainly used for converting AC or Alternate Current to DC or Direct Current. This process is called rectification.

Battery cables touched to wrong post now no power to start key

I hope you allready checked the ignition fuse carfully, if so there may be a diode in the circuit which could have poped. A diode only alows current flow in one direction only, and by reversing the power leads the revers current may have exceded the diodes rating

Blender Switch

That diode,if inline and not an addition to side,is for one way power. That way the power doesn't run backwards if a spike occurs.Just solder that one way diode to a universal swich.

MY 1999 SUBARU LEGACY B4 has the power light flashing on the dash board every time the engine is running, i have tried checking for mechanical problems through a computer but it shows me that nothing is...

You should rule out a failing alternation tri-diode pack first

When one or more failed diode(s) on the tri-diode fail AC ripple voltage will leak to the 12V DC circuit.

When small amount of AC ripple leak out to 12V DC circuit sensitive electronic like ECU,alarm system will not work well.

The easiest method is go to a good auto parts stator and ask for a in car alternator test.

Make sure they has a Midtronic or similar unit that can check the diode pack.

Battery light remaining on despite new battery. What could the problem be?

I would have the alternator tested. Usally when the battery light is on, there is problems with the diodes in the alternator. The alternator diodes allows the voltage to go one way, but not the other, when the diodes go bad, power goes the other way, often draining the battery and turning on the battery light.

Make sure Parking brakes are fully released and then check the diode under the dash, drivers side above right foot, remove diode and shunt tyhe connection if lights lite diode is bad. These diode reduce the power by 25% and are prone to fail
