Check the batteries to make sure they're all "Deep Cycle" batteries. Next are you checking the batteries with a hydrometer? Thats the only way to judge the condition of a battery. Now if all are good start looking at the motor. This is for an all electric cart, If you have a gas engine on this cart check the fuel system especially the filter. I hope this helps. Take care.
Need to check to see if the cart has a "resistor" style speed control. Older models will possible have this. It could be a bad resistor. Remember the old slot car controllers. Look closely at the pedal assembly. If it has a plug, disconnect it and see if the resistance between pins varies with pedal position and if you hit a dead spot.
Be careful to unplug batteries. 36V- 48V battery packs have a lot of power.
When you removed the batteries, a certain procedure MUST be followed. Key switch off, switch to tow position and shift lever in reverse. You must wait until the beeper unit sound dies out then remove the wire from the most NEGATIVE cable. Place in Neutral before installing new batteries. There is a specific sequence to putting the batteries in an EZ-GO cart.
Failure to follow this procedure will kill the controller. The Key
switch must be off and the maintenance/tow switch MUST be in the tow
position when connecting the batteries. Any of the above will cause the controller to fail, due to improper discharge of the PRE-Charge capacitors.
I have a 96 EZ GO gas golf cart with loose steering. What parts are normally needed to correct this problem and are special tools required for me to replace the parts.
Thanks,
Bob
