Question about 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

'98 Jeep Grand Cherokee - My Heat/AC worked intermittently for a few days and now blows only heat. Changing the Heat/AC settings doesn't change the temperature at all. It blows very hot. AC is still charged and the AC pump comes "on" when the AC button is pushed - but no change in temp. Any ideas?

The control for the AC/Heater door isn't working. To have AC the door has to close so that the hot air is not being blown into the car. When this door is closed it allows the cool air to pass through. This is either controled by vacuum or a ele. switch

Check the control valve on the heater core supply line to make sure the Vacuum line or control cable are connected and that it is opening properly.

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4.7 V8: Has dual

hi
there is no recall from jeep (there should be) your blend doors are damaged or broken. jeep will quote you around £800 to fix. log on to heatertreater.net they have a diy quick fix that will last the life of jeep. you can install the new blend doors that are metel (not stupid plastic ones jeep use) in around half an hour, this really does work as i have installed a few of these kits with no problems.
hope this helps

97 Jeep Grand Cherokee only blows heat and ac out of dashboard

There is a vacuum leak under the hood. If it's a 6 cylinder, look on the drivers side for a vacuum line that runs vertical with a 90 degree angle fitting to the manifold. That one usually comes off. If it is a V8 look on the battery side for a broken or corroded vacuum line.
