My 2008 WRX has 22K. The clutch peddle started

My 2008 WRX has 22K. The clutch peddle started squeaking about two months back. drove the car last night home from work, depressed the clutch and felt something let go. Doesnt engage disengage and had to drive home in 2nd gear. The dealer is saying its totally blown but they wont know why until its fully apart. Any thoughts???? What a POS, if anyone tells you subeys are bulletproof they are lying to your face! I got 160K original miles on my VW Jetta clutch. I've been driving stick for 25 years and baby the thing. WHat a POS! Your thoughts and thanks in advance....

I had the same problem with my 2008 wrx. Took the car twice to the subaru shop and they said all was ok, until clutch broke. Had to change it at 60k - and they did not pay. Too bad to see Subaru lose quality..

Subaru makes/sells a good product. Too bad you've had issues with the clutch in/of your WRX. Since you have 25 years of experience driving manual transmission car(s) you should understand that the problem can not be pinpointed without taking the component apart. Your vehicle is under the manufacturer warranty so Subaru should repair/replace the defective clutch. After the WRX is fixored sell it and buy another VW......Peace

Have you looked under the car? maybe something out of place or even hanging down that shouldn't be hanging? Its possible that you have bad cv axles as well. That's really all I can think of unless I actualy drove it myself. good luck!.

UNfortunately it sounds like your clutch has failed...and is slipping.....it sounds like the pressure plate may have fractured......and considering it is a wrx, this would definetly be the weakest point as the gearboxes are almost indestructible......

Wont always start

Did anyone check the clutch interlock switch? It's possible the position is out of adjustment. My 2008 SRT4 is right at the bottom. If you don't push the clutch ALL the way down, it won't start.
