2004 grand prix check gas cap light on changed gas cap and still the same problem dont know what to do

Open the trunk, pull the carpet back to reveal the access to the fuel pump. The gas tank pressure sensor is located on top or the fuel pump. The connector has 3 wires, 1 black and 2 colored. Pull the plug off the sensor, put jumper across the 2 colored wires, tape it up with electrical tape. Replace the access cover, the carpet, close the trunk and never see that "CHECK GAS CAP" message again.

Changing spark plugs

these will be under the black cover on the very top of the engine. they should have coils over each one and require that you remove them before you unscrew the spark plug. use bosch, ngk, or nippon denso plugs. now you also dont have to get the fanciest plugs they sell just cause some parts jockey wants you to believe they are better. get what the vehicle calls for and gap them accordingly.

Finding the spark plugs

Depending on the engine you may not even have plug wires. i have a 2.4L in my grand am and they are under a plate directly on top of the engine(the one that says 2.4L on it.) should just be 4bolts and it lifts right out and you're 4spark plugs are right underneath it

Spark Plugs

your spark plugs should be in either one of 2 places.
1 while you are stadning in front of the car look down there should be some what looks like black caps with thick wires coming from them. in this position you plugs will be torward the bottom of your engine.
2.look to the right or left of the engine. you should see the same thing black caps with wires comeing out of them. thoses are you plugs. now all you have to do is take one wire off at a time. to do that grasp the lower part of the wire shoudl be the black cap do not pull on the wire it's self you might break the wire. from there you should be able to see the top of the plug.
