HI. This will be the TC light you are noticing at this time. When this light is illuminated, it will signal that the traction control module is active and operational.

    There are many styles as well. Some models will just have the letters TC illuminated. If the tread is facing you at a level stance, and the tread looks like a low tire, this will be the low tire pressure light.

    If the illuminated light looks like tire treads drawn in a s curve, this will be the TC module alert.

My Nissan Murano 2007 shows a spanner and word PIT on TV screen. Whatdoes thisnmean?

That seems to be an indicator that your wheels (tires) should be rotated.

Your manual indicates the reset procedure for these service lights.

Below there is a video that depicts a 2006 being operated.

Hope this helps.

I have new tires on my 2008 Ford Fusion but no traction in the snow

what type of tire did you get?? hiway tire..or a mud/snow tire..there is a difference..you can usually tell by the tread pattern.. a highway tire is designed to help remove water to the sides and away from the rubber facing..and has consistent lines in it.. a traction tire has blocks on the tread surface that gives the loose snow some where to go when driven over ..and this tread is self cleaning as the tire rotates..the tread is normally a bit deeper also..just because they are new dont mean they are the right ones..you may also need to invest in a set of traction grippers that are put on the wheel for deep snow..(like snow chains)..however check on your state and local laws allowing usage before purchasing..the newer ones are a type of cable system that has ferrules on the road surface..

Truck has a shimmy

Could be tires are out of balance, tire/tires tread separating or perhaps some other front end problem. Check for any tire problems like bulges in the tread or some indicator of separation. If the tires look good then I would check the balance. If not the balance you might consider having a professional mechanic take a look at what the problem is. Hope this helps...

Why does my service 4 wheeldrive light come on on 99 gmc yukon

I would start by making sure the tire pressure in all the tires are the same and that the tread on the tires have the same amount of tread left. If they are just a little off the Service 4WD light will come on and most of the time that is the problem. Once all 4 tires are equal in pressure and tread wear, it may take a few times of starting, driving around, and shutting the engine off for the light to turn itself off and realize the problem is corrected. Hope this helps but if not, reply and I will keep helping until the problem is fixed.

What is the recommended tire pressure on the 05 fx ? ive been running 34psi, but this winter i ran 40psi. someone told me that over inflatining caused my right front tire to wear on the center treads...

Too much air pressure (cold tire temp) when filling, will cause center tire wear. The pressure recommendations and recommended tire sizes are located on the inside driver side door panel.

My child away at college, has a Rav4, 2008 with a warning light on that looks like "tire tread?" Just had the oil changed 2 weeks ago, so shouldn't have anything to do with that. Sound familiar?...

That symbol (tire tread) could mean a low tire pressure. The majority of vehicles today have the low tire pressure warning system, which indicates that one or more of the tires are below the minimum tire pressure. Have the tire pressure checked in each tire. As for turning the warning light off, some vehicles the light will go out after tires are inflated properly. Have them check the owner's manual for resetting warning light. Please inform me as to whether or not it was the tires...thanks.

Light is on dash not sure what it is. Did not recieve a manual with the car so i can see what the light means. Its like a horse shoe with an esclamation in th middle

This is the tire inflation pressure alert. That would mean one or more of your tires needs air.

The simple solution is check the pressure for all the tires and add air as needed. If one tire is significantly lower than the others, you probably have a leak. The leak is most often caused by a nail or other sharp object penetrating the tread of the tire. You can confirm this by squirting a soapy solution over the entire tire and look for bubbles indicating a leak.

"Check tire pressure" light still on.???

pls follow these instructions:

Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • Tire Gauges
  • Tread Depth Gauge
  1. Step 1 Let the tires cool before checking their pressure (tires are more inflated when warm, less when cold).
  2. Step 2check-add-air-1.2-120x120.jpg jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep2 span.image a:first').attr('href','http://i.ehow.co.uk/images/a00/01/q9/check-add-air-1.2-800X800.jpg'); }); Remove the cap from the valve on 1 tire.
  3. Step 3check-add-air-1.3-120x120.jpg jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep3 span.image a:first').attr('href','http://i.ehow.co.uk/images/a00/01/q9/check-add-air-1.3-800X800.jpg'); }); Press a tire gauge hard onto the valve and note the reading. The sound of escaping air means you haven't inserted the gauge properly: it's either pressed on askew or you're pressing too lightly.
  4. Step 4 Add air to achieve recommended pressure, which is listed on a sticker on the driver's side doorjamb and in the car's manual. If you overfill, you can release air by pushing on the tiny metal stem in the center of the valve with a fingernail or the tip of a pen or pencil. If you need to guess, 32 psi (pounds per square inch) is a good rule of thumb for most passenger cars with standard tires.
  5. Step 5check-add-air-1.5-120x120.jpg jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep5 span.image a:first').attr('href','http://i.ehow.co.uk/images/a00/01/q9/check-add-air-1.5-800X800.jpg'); }); Replace the valve cap.
  6. Step 6 Repeat with each tire, including the spare (the status of its pressure is often forgotten until it's needed, and then it's too late).
  7. Step 7 Check the tread depth. Recommended depth differs with types of tires. For a standard sedan tire, a penny pushed into the tread can give you a rough reading. If you can see any of Lincoln's head, it may be time to replace the tire. A $15 tread-depth gauge can give you a more accurate reading. There may also be wear indicators built into the tread; if they show, replace the tire.
  8. Step 8 Check for even wear (see "How to Interpret Your Car's Tire Wear.") If the treads on the outside or inside are particularly worn, you may need to rotate your tires or have your alignment checked.
jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); });
