Question about 1988 Honda Civic 2 Door
Tail lights stay on becouse of a short and i dont know where it is
On your break peddle there is a small hole that had a rubber pluge in it!! tape a penny in it or go to home depo and buy a small rubber plug to close the hole

The problem is in the switch down on your brake pedal. It's adjustable, sounds like your button on this switch is staying out rather than going in when you release the brake. Good luck.
