Buy the switch, then buy the socket tool that is needed to get it removed, it is on the back of the engine on the block, unscrew the old one and install the new one. if you get under the car make sure it is supported using jackstands and safe equipment

I have a tapping noise in my 2005 neon it just startaed

check the oil make sure its full. change the oil with recommended grade oil and the filter. if this doesn't fix the issue have the oil pressure checked. neon are known to have bearing issues that cause low oil pressure and a tapping noise because the lifters are not getting enough oil. some will have the oil light flicker when engine is idle in gear. another cause for a tapping would be the belt tentioner

We had the oil pressure sender replaced on our 2002 Neon, what do they have to take apart to change this

no, the oil pressure sender merely screws into a port over an oil passage. to replace you just undo the connection, unscrew the old one, screw in new one, and re connect

My 98 Neon stopped running in the middle of the street. Now it will not start, although it cranks. I changed out he ignition module or coil assembly, mut no luck

Replace the Vehicle speed sensor. It gets coated with oil leaking from the oil pressure switch and will fail. I've done this 3 times until I got smart and replaced the oil pressure switch. Make sure you get a good seal on the OP switch. Good Luck, it's easy to DIY

Oil light comes on at 2.5 rpm or lower. Turns off when car accelerates.

Your oil pressure switch may be defective or the oil pump may need replacing. Change switch & see if that solves problem. This is 90% of the time the issue; however, you may have to hook up an independent oil gauge to determine actual oil pressure. If you have extremely high mileage on the engine it could be a bearing problem. Good luck!
