If your actually going to attempt this repair yourself i suggest you get your hands on a repair manual. there are a lot of steps involved in this procedure. if done incorrectly you could damage your engine. suggest you let an experienced tech handle it if your not absolutly sure you can do it.

WHEB TO CHANGE A TIMING BELT FOR A 2000 TOYOTA

Never as it does not have a timing belt but instead has a timing chain that requires no maintenance and should last the life of the engine.

ON THIS CAR WHEN DOES THE TIMING BELT NEED TO BE CHANGED ?

your timing belt needs to be replaced every 90,000 miles on the older cars they are to be replaced at every 60,000 miles. but if it was me i would do every 60k just because breaking a timing belt can cost you a motor and for your camery that can cost up to 2000 for a rebuilt motor.

How to replace timing belt on 2000 toyota camery 4 cy

disassemble the protection parts from the motor. Then release the tension of the old belt by unscrewing a little the alternator bolts. take out the old belt and fix the new belt with the marks on it over the marks on the wheels. tension the belt with the alternator and screw back the bolts and the protection parts.
