Question about 2000 Hyundai Elantra

1 Answer

Power window regulator failure

To the best of my knowledge, there are no recalls or warranty fixes authorized by Hyundai. The window regulators in my 2000 Elantra have systematically failed, starting with the rear windows. The only one left working is the driver's window. I have the other three propped up with a piece of wood. It's ridiculous that Hyundai will not own up to this obvious defect. If access to the window area was a bit simpler, I would attempt to fix them myself.

Hello how do i fix problem of rear windows not closing ix35 hyundai?

Your best bet is to pull the door panel and then the electrical connector to the window motor. Use a voltmeter to see if it's getting power and ground when you operate the switch. The voltage should toggle between +12 and -12 as you move the button from up to down. If you're getting those readings, then the window regulator must be replaced. If not, then it's either a master switch issue or a broken wire--usually in the driver's door hinge area. Read this post http://ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/replace-a-window-regulator/

2000 LeSabre Limited Power Window failures all 4 of them. First failed at 22000 miles, second at 23000 miles, third and fourth at about 70000 miles. Was there a recall for these defects?

No recall that I'm aware of. This is a common problem with these models. You may want to routinely use silicone spray on the rubber guides where the glass pane rubs against when the window is moved. This should help to lubricate the window and greatly reduce the load on the regulator cables and motor, thus extending the life of the window motor.

The front drivers side window on my 2005 Hyundai Elentra was working fine last night i rolled it down on my way to church and it got stuck and will not roll up. It appears to be off the track. Could you...

Sounds like the window regulator has malfunctioned. Best solution: Take your vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealership and pay the diagnostic fee... they will tell you exactly what the problem is and the cost of parts/labor to fix it... at least this way you'll know what the problem is and what's required to fix it.

How do you replace the window regulator on a 04 vw?

Well you can find the window regulator, but you'd probably have to get it at the dealer either way, also this regulator isn't one that you want to try to replace on your own. It has 3 adjustments to adjust the window regulator or the window won't function properly. I don't recommend trying it yourself. You may try calling VW of America and see if they will help you out. They have been known to do that and they have the authority to ok it. I would try that. If that doesn't work you may be able to find a shop capable of replacing it but it isn't an easy regulator to replace, it takes special tools and knowledge of the process and to get the window adjusted right. The first one I did took me about a day to get adjusted right.

Hope helped.

Power Window Failure

It is likely a bad regulator. Remove the door panel and unbolt the regulator and motor, They are usually just bolted in on GM.
