Hopefully you have a manual in the glove box. The is a section called fuses. Look up the fuse panel and find the one for interior lights.

The fuse panel will usually have extra fuses. Make sure you put in the same color you took out. If you don't have that color take one out of another spot just to check to see if the light come on, Then get one from the parts store.

If that does not fix it you really will need to either take it to a repair shop, or get the schematic and trace the source of power or ground and check them.

The fact that it does not come on with the switch or door indicates a lack of power. However remote as it may be it could be the switch itself, but that is a one in a hundred chance.

Hope this helps

Dome lights won't work on my 2005 Chevy equinox

The courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit of the body control module (BCM) supplies battery positive voltage to the dome lamp, the liftgate lamps, and the map lamps. When any door is opened, the door jamb switch contacts close providing a door open input to the BCM. The BCM then provides a ground to the interior lamps with the switch in the AUTO position. The interior lamps receive a ground at G401 with the switch in the ON position.
The following lamps may be manually turned ON by placing the interior lamp switch in the ON position, or by opening a door while the switch is in the AUTO position.
The dome lamp

The liftgate lamps

Courtesy/map lights

You can't turn them on manually ?
This could be a BCM problem , this best left to a ASE certified repair shop or the dealer .

Two interior lights will not go out

Bad door switch, or bad connection to it. Usually looks like a little push button pin type switch in the door jamb. Try pushing them (1 per door) in and out by hand a few times just to see if the lights go out (one at a time keep other door(s) closed) Sometimes they can be adjusted if it just the door not making full contact with the switch causing it not to activate. If no luck, try removing them from door jamb and manually connect the wires together to see if the switch itself is bad, if so, replace switch. Only other thing I could think of is a bad switch where you can turn on the interior lights manually from the light control. If you can't get it to work, you can always pull the courtesy light fuse so you don't run your battery down while you investigate the problem.

Interior lights

Door switch operation when drivers door pin switch open position; poor ground circuit control. Try wiggle testing pin switch. Harness is routed from door switch along floor board rocker sill.

When we open the doors, the interior light do NOT

Check the dome light, there is supposed to be a three-position switch; off, on constant and on when door opens...try that switch and see if the lights come on...if that doesn't work, check the bulb to see if it is burned out and if that doesn't work, check the fuse panel for a blown fuse...
