Question about 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe
First you need to check your fuses and make sure you didnt blow a fuse. no special tools. used a screw driver and carefully pry it away from the metal part of the door. be careful not to let it fall to the ground because it could pull the wires from the motor or the controls in the panel.

You can get tools that are generiac, which I would recommend (after) you get some experience,so the next veh in your future will go easier. It is a frustrating job more than difficult. The door panel can be worse than getting the motor out. Now the really, really bad part is, the sharp metal edges of the inner door sheet metal. You need sleeves on and can't always wear gloves and still get you hands in there. SO--Expect to get cut up ,NO exception. The fasteners you will break getting the panel off are called Christmas Trees in some cases and easier to find an may only be at an Auto Body Supply House. BE CAREFULL ON THE SHARP EDGES

Remove the nuts from the regulator cover plate
Remove the regulator bolts (1, 2, 3) and remove the motor/regulator from the vehicle
Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Install the regulator drive cable (1) to the rear of the cover plate
The regulator drive cable goes into position (2) for the coupe and position (3) for the sedan.
