This can be done but you need to go to the auto parts store and buy a repair manual on your car. You need to know things like timing marks and such. The have pictures of important things to do and know while doing this job. Way more then anybodys going to try and sit here and tell you.

Gear no change som time

Salam Hohammed, the problem with your vehicle would seem to be the gear box management system, and most likely a speed sensor. Take the vehicle for a scan and have the problem pin pointed. When that has been done the technicians will be guided as to the problem and they wil be able to rectify it for you. Shalom John

I have a kia rio 2001 the car shakes when i drive it. seems that it does not go into gears, it has no power.

AUTO GEAR THE SERVICE MANUAL DOES NOT REQUIRE TO CHANGE GEAR OIL AND FILTER ,BUT TIME AND USAGE OF THE CAR MAKES THE OIL FITLY AND EVAPORATE EVEN IN CLOSE GEARS.SO CHANGING REFRESH THE GEAR SHIFTING USUALLY SOLVES THE PROBLEM IF ITS NO TOO LATE ADV. CHANGE GEAR OIL EVERY OTHER SERVICE SCHEDULE.

How do you fix timing gear

Timing Gear...? when you say gear, it usually is gear/chian configuration. Neon has a timing belt and unless something realy strange happened, you wil never need to repalce/repair a timing gear.

Changing a timing belt is not to terribly hard (well, its all relative to how mechanically inclined you are)

If you want to change the belt, let me know, I can give you instructions (best thing is to get a book thought, they have pictures that are worth a 1000 words!!)

I want to change the mechanical oil seal for crank shaft

you need a gear puller to pull the gear off. but to change the seal for the crankshaft, you only remove the timing gear and change the seal on the cover that you removed. there is nor need to pull the gear itself. if you pull the gear, you still can't change any other bearings or seals without removing the heads and manifold.

Gear shifting problem

The 1st thing to do is have a test run on the transmission control module to see if any trouble codes are present, next have you ever serviced the transmission, fluid and filter change, should be done at 60,000 miles, on occasion this can cure problems like yours.
