I replaced the coil with a new one with still the same results. It was driving fine then acted like it was flooding and blowing up out of the carb. I stuck a screw driver in the carb thinking that the choke was sticking and still it wouldnt fire. I got to looking and measured my volts at the coil and had 7 volts. So I took the wire off and it read 12 Volts. Naturally I thought it was shorted but when I put the new one on I got the same results.

If you disconnect the coil wire and the voltage increases, the i would have to say you have a shorted out coil.

No, you do not. You just do not have a voltage drop with the + coil wire off. You have 12 volts going to the coil. He has a jumped timing chain and it spits back throught the carb

Wont start the starter is working yet it won crank what can I do

Did you check power an grounds using voltage drop testing , did you check battery voltage an computer control at the starter motor relay in the under hood fuse / relay box ? Instead of guessing you need to learn how to use a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter an test ! The powertrain control module controls the starter motor operation ! Starter Voltage Drop VEHICLE RELAYS Operation Diagnosis ,If you pull the relay an jump pin's 30 & 87 the starter should crank ,test the circuit starter motor side ! Pins 85 & 86 are the control side ., Pin 85 or 86 forget which one has battery voltage with the key on . The one with out voltage is control from the engine computer ! Also if the anti theft system is active it wont start !

Truck wont start. has half a tank of gas battery is charged just wont roll over was told it may be the censor modual

If the motor will not turn over check voltage at the starter you should have 12 volts and if you do then your starter is bad.If you don't have 12 volts at the starter than check your ignition switch and starter relay.

On my 2000 Mitsubishi eclipse, the driver side window wont roll up, and it can't be the motor, cause the passenger window will roll up, and when I try and roll up the driver side it'll make a noise like it...

It could still be the motor.. a small internal short in the motor will let it run but not under a heavier load like pushing the window up. If you can get to the window motor connector by removing the door panel and have a good volt meter you can back prob that connect with small paper clips as just and example. key on engine off, and run the window.. if you get a reading of 12V Then it's most likely an internal short of some kind in the window motor.
Just my thoughts.. Hope it's helpful

It's a 92 Plymouth laser 1.8 none turbo, wont start when cold..will only idle. Once it gets some heat in it, it runs and starts fine. It threw 3 codes, volume Air Flow senor, intake air temperature sensor,...

Hello! system dropped our chat... probe onto the Gray/White and - probe on the Gray/black...Meter set to read 5 volts...start engine...Meter must read less than 1 volt (.85)...Slowly increase throttle...Meter must read 4 volts at full throttle...Voltage must increase smoothly...If it jumps, jerks or acts erratic the TPS is defective....saailer

1990 honda wont start or crank, the lights dont come on, head or inside the car

The distributor in the hondas has a function of also engaging the coil to create spark. No spark = no fire. Perhaps take a plug out, leave the lead on, hold it with INSULATED pliers against a solid metal part of the engine and get someone to crank the engine over.

If the plug sparks - coil and firing switch OK. If no spark, check coil first - remove main + feed lead from coil terminals and check on a meter for power with key on but NO motor cranking. No power = faulty distributor/firing switch. No other ideas sorry!

If it won't turn over you may want to check Battery cables for tightness and/or corrosion Starter solenoid Neutral or clutch safety switch
