Why does the high beam indicator stay on when normal headlights are turned on , the headlights and indicators will not work ?

sounds as though it may be a column stalk issue if all these functions are on a column stalk it may have become faulty.
It the light switch for main/dip beam is discrete may be a BCM or other electrical fault.
The first is the most likely but, as column stalks may cost a lot of cash, have a competent auto electrician take a look first

I have replaced the headlamps but dipped headlights still not working. What else could it be? fuse? Thanks, Euan

By "dipped" headlamps, do you mean the "low" beam headlamps? If so, the dimmer switch [located on the turn signal stalk] may be bad. Have you checked for power to the low beam wires at the headlamp electrical sockets? BMWs, unlike most cars, do have fuses for the headlamps, so yes, it is possible that those fuses have blown.

Why don't my low beam lights come on? they work intermittently.

the low beam lights are switched by the stalk. power goes in the stalk and you switch it between the high beam and low beam from that. If it works intermittently it could be bad contacts in the light switch/stalk. Jon

No headlights

not sure about this as no year or model but if you have lost both dip and beam then i would suspect the control stalk switch so i would remove the shroud and check the supply to the switch for power before you start messing around with relays

Turn on headlights the the dash light fues blows

i have this problem as well before now and turned out to the light stalk ,you turn it to side lights and no problem but when you turn it further for the dip lights it pops the fuse and this was the switch stalk it had fallen apart where the wires run up the had another similar problem but it wasnt a ford it was a ??? cannot remember what ?? but the main beam bulb had gone funny and it produced a direct short across the bulb and this blew a fuse as well ,think it was a older skoda fabia ?? sorry old age creeps up on everyone

Cant get main beam on only sidelights or full beam.i have a 54 plate vw polo

renew the stalk control ,the switch is on the dash i know on this car but the dip/beam control is on the steering column and this is my main suspect as being faulty unless both bulbs have blown at the same time ,dont laugh have had it happen before now

Left side full beam not woring on SAAB 95 2000

Might as well check the orange headlight control unit first, as it is an extremely common issue, and will only take you 20 minutes. Here is a step by step tutorial with pictures to examine and repair it. The tutorial is from a 1995 900 but is fully applicable to your car.
